can we all take a moment to appreciate the effort put into these videos. Peter goes through the effort of finding an identical plane, crashing it with people on board, and capturing everything from multiple angles just for our entertainment, truly nothing like it on this platform.

@perhansson6718 10 days ago

The "too low terrain" warning means the airplane was not configured for landing. To choose to not go around in that stage is just bad judgement.

I hope your channel wins the award 🏆 — the Mentour team certainly deserves it for their great work 👍🤗.

Hi Petter, just two notes to add:
1) At PF’s discretion, it is allowed to select F30 even when a F25 landing had been briefed and planned beforehand. Not during the flare obviously, but it is possible in principle during final approach.
2) The 767F from BDSF doesn’t have slides but inertial reels instead. In fact, you can see the reels lying on the floor of the flight deck during your B-roll footage.

The animations on this channel are just above anything else I've seen on YouTube.

Congrats on the nomination! Your entire team always does incredible work

@JoseVGavila 10 days ago

I would say it was a really long list of bad decissions, one after another!

@otlndsh 10 days ago

They knew they were unstable and thought they could get away with it, if they landed safely.

@StephenCole1916 10 days ago

You and Juan Browne are the only peeps I trust for good reporting on these accidents.

As a retired commercial driver, I'm very aware of hours of service. I worked some very strange hours regarding time of day or night. The best thing to happen to the industry I worked in was electronic log books. Prior to that? The company and customer were expecting drivers to "fudge" the numbers.

Thrust reversers and brakes just not engaging is TERRIFYING to think about

@derfel72 10 days ago

I cast my vote. Thank you to the Mentour Pilot team for such great content.

@volvodoc01 10 days ago

Mad respect for all you and your team does Petter! Solid facts and explanation!

@kevinsheppard2998 10 days ago

To answer one of the questions at the and, 767 freighter uses inertial reels instead of slides

@markmaki4460 10 days ago

The starkest thing i saw in any of the videos of the landing of that freighter was: i could see the tops of the wings and fuselage of it for a few seconds when it was on final... in a video taken from the ground. That had to be quite a ride for the pilot monitoring. If that CVR didn't have a few exclamations and colorful language from the pilot monitoring, his heart in his throat was preventing any.

@TheOmNomGirl 10 days ago

you should make a community post about the award nomination! would definitely maximize awareness and encourage people to follow the link

@mach801 10 days ago

To be clear. The B767 cargo configuration doesn’t have emergency slides as the passenger configuration. Primary exits are either the pilot windows using escape ropes or the main entry door using inertia reels.

Thank you for your continued coverage of these important events

I was thinking that Mentour wasn't going to do a video on this until the official report was out, and I was bumming...but I knew that would give the best information and so I would be patient.
But here I am, enjoying the heck out of a still-top-notch video of this accident. I am grateful ❤
