Hello mentour and bentour

The one who did the recovery was a plumber who put the attacking copilot in a headlock and dragged him out of the cockpit, which makes this story even crazier. He said he knew what to do from watching the "Accident Investigation" TV program.

What makes this channel great...

"This what we know.... "
"This is pure speculation.... "

No drama, no sensationalism, just facts and insights based on experience. Always my first source of information regarding air incidents.

This is a perfect argument against automating down to one pilot.

High marks for the Boeing 737 build quality.

Actually, the funny thing about this whole incident is the guy who pulled the plane out of the dive said he figured it out from watching "Mayday - Air Disasters". I can't wait for their own episode on this incident for that reason. The self-promotion will be off-the-charts.

I can't wait for the Mentour Pilot video on this in a few years! Especially since everyone survived.

What I think this shows is that however much airlines will push for single pilot operations, (and you know they will with increased automation), in this case, it seems that the only thing that prevented the tragedy that was going to unfold is the fact that there were 2 pilots (well, that and the fact that there were an additional set of pilots among the passengers).

Love the videos guys. Terrorism is never an accident. Fly safe out there!

yesterday when I first saw the news I commented "this is gonna be a banger Mentour Pilot video", that came true waaay sooner than I expected

On my last flight I was seated near the front and I heard the auto-pilot disconnect sound as we were coming into land - thanks to Mentour, this very much not-a-pilot recongized it right away!

Your non-sensationalism is appreciated as always! Good to hear the facts from you guys

Can't wait for the full Mentour pilot episode on this incident once the final report is out.

The crash was prevented by a plumber who pulled the plane out of a dive based on having watched aircraft investigations. Once it was level, then the relief pilot on board took over

Your son is almost 17? How long have I been watching your channel? I remember when he used to poke his head round the door in your earlier videos....

@bunyon545 6 hours ago

I know you all said this would happen, but I love that you two discuss cockpit relations in such detail, with such care, on the heels of flydubai. Having the flydubai discussion first just made for such a surreal episode.

Amazing, 2 professionals, explaining to us the reality, with little opinion, nothing outside the facts as known. A masterclass in restraint, information, calmness after such an extraordinary event. Petter and Ben, your work and ethics are an example to all out there who dive in with unfounded theory and sensation

This was an attempted highjacking, not an incident. Thanks to the pilot's quick response, despite being stabbed and severely wounded, in opening the door, several passengers and crew were able to subdue the copilot and then get the plane landed safely.
