Honestly, Drake, the fact that you s*it on the OPs as much as you do the problem players is what makes you my favorite D&D Story Reader.

What an amazing change of pace, I feel like  r/AITA is perfect for you, because you can really tear the OP a new one without holding back if needed. Trust me, I love the normal horror stories, but adding this subreddit to the mix makes it extra entertaining

Finally someone else pointing out when these storys are written in a way to come of as flawless while painting those around them as problems.

About the first story, she also was the one who brought the problem player to the game AFTER the harassment story, and afte OP said it was a bad idea, that said, leaving the door open is dumb.

11:00 no, believe me. The validation thing is actually very accurate. Most of the posts on R / aita are like that. People in situations where one group or person is calling them an asshole and they want validation to make sure that they did the right thing.

The Baby issue story I think I can give some real advice. Me and my husband have 2 kids, now 4 and 8. We have been hosting dnd for a year at our house, and I DM. We do a small group sometimes I only have 2 or 3 players. So my learned advice, make dnd night at night, baby's got to sleep. We have done sessions during the day, but plan them around nap time for the toddler, these sessions aren't more than 2 hrs, but everyone understands and agrees the kids come first.  So I don't think the hosts have to get a babysitter;  however, they clearly haven't given much thought about there guests from what has been written,  and should try to make the baby at the table to a minimum. If they are doing this than the OP needs to find a new group and stop being a baby themselves.

The last one is a classic example of a guy being embarrassed of how he act around his male friends and trying to show off how mature he is to his wife (who probably wasn't even interested in the first place, she just wanted to spend time with him). I know a lot of guys do that unknowingly.

As far as Mr. Perfect Patrick, I think the proper step is to remove him from the game. If what he's saying about the DnD group and the wife being so damn attractive there is true, the behavior will stop when he's not at the table anymore. If the guy simply has a crush and won't let up no matter how firmly he's told, a married individual should distance themselves from that person. No matter how dear a friendship, boundaries are not suggestions.

Something that I feel could also be brought up for most of these stories is something I always tell my players:
Life ALWAYS comes before D&D.
If my campaign, or any campaign for that matter, is causing any issues outside of D&D, or if there is something that comes up like someone being sick or family decides to drop by for another player, or any amount of stress in your actual life is causing you to not want to play, then life ALWAYS comes first. Yes, as a DM you want your story to be told and your world to be explored… but, that can happen next week or with certain players that can fill in the other players when possible. Never play a game and put that game before other things in life.

Tbh, I should run a minor villain who's a corrupt judge who's also a dragon.

I personally think the couple with the baby are the assholes for ignoring how distracting their child was becoming and forcing others to bring up the issue.  They could've tried to work something out with the party on relocating the game to another host or moving to discord until the kid is older.

For the last one... I think the husband is in a conflict of vision. He probably acts in very different ways with his friends and his wife. And as he made the mistake of making the two world meet, he desperatly tries to maintain the image he gives to his wife. Not an asshole, but dude should have thought twice before bringing his wife in, or have a talk all together.

On story #2, I can see why the DM played it out that way. From the sound of it, it seems like there was at least a chance she could have survived. Even if not, there's always a resurrection spell, if the party takes you to get one. Point is, this assassin plotline could have been just that, a way of reminding C that there are consequences for one's actions while offering a reasonable in-game explanation for why she was attacked, and giving the party another quest line to track down the assassin's employer.

The way these stories are written OP might as well stand for "Objectivity Prohibited". Every once in awhile I'll come across a refreshing true story like the previous one about the Mother character in the Discord server. But I've been burned too many times to take these at face value.

With the second to last one, about the baby, why didn't they just say that the baby is bothering them, and if the whole group agreed they could just put the game on hold until the baby is older and more independent??
