Cheslin Kolbe is the first cousin cousin of Wayde van Niekerk, the current 400m world record track runner

Every single one of them will tackle any American Football player, every single time.
We do not shy away from a tackle.

3:50 "I could play rugby with my body type" That's one of the beautiful things about rugby is that there's a place for just about every body type somewhere in the team. South Africa has a particularly massive spread of body types because coach Rassie Erasmus has this crazy, wacky, radical idea of "what if instead of picking the players who look like what people think the best rugby players should look like, we pick the players who play rugby the best" This is massively increased the diversity of the Springboks both in terms of body type and race. There's lots of players who would never have given Gio Aplon, Cheslin Kolbe, Kurt-Lee Arrendse, Edwill van der Merwe, etc a chance because they're tiny, but now they're a whole genre of South African winger.

Any one of the Tuilagi brothers would have an NFL player out there mid-tackle thinking, “You know what… maybe accounting wasn’t such a bad career choice after all.”

There was this heartfelt story of number 11, Makazole Mapimpi, where the Springbok coach, Rassie Erasmus, asked the players to place photos of their loved ones on their jerseys during the 2019 world cup. When it came to Mapimpi he placed photos of only himself on his jersey. The coach asked him why and Mapimpi explained that he had lost his mother and all his siblings and had no photo of his dad. He has no family. The story drove the coach to tears. The guy is such a great inspiration to all of us in South Africa.

If there is one rivalry in Rugby that is always fun to watch regardless the result is the Springboks vs All Blacks, the ABSOLUTE TITANS of the sport

This team South Africa (Springboks) will be playing New Zealand at the Ravens Stadium in Baltimore on Saturday, 12 September 2026

Rugby world cup is held every 4 years, so 4x world champs doesnt mean 4 years in a row.

SAFA won it in - 1995, 2007, 2019 and 2023.

Because the competition being only every 4 years - winning back to back is a huge achievement, as you’ve got to keep developing the squads and gameplay etc over longer periods.

Everytime anyone sees Cheslin Kolbe at work for the first time they're flabbergasted :face-green-smiling:

South Africa who you just watched, we have our first game of the year on June 20th

I really love your enthusiasm for the game.  Makes me smile knowing that more people are appreciating the sport.  🙂

I love seeing people react to this video of our Boks 🥳😃

NFL is a contact sport,Rugby is a collision sport.

Cheslin Kolbe, perfect blend of attack and defense and skill for days...

6:48 all of them, seriously

5:25 That's a scrum. Specifically, a ludicrously dominant scrum. At professional level, it's very rare to get a scrum marched backwards like that because a) everyone can train scrumming regularly in a way you can't if you work a 9-5 so it's hard to get a scrum that much better than another team's and b) there are plenty of ways to illegally prevent the opposition's scrum from pushing you backwards, if you're willing to risk a penalty or a card

Rugby is one thing that brings all of South Africa together, not matter the race. We are very proud that Siya Kolisi is our captain and has taken the team to win the RWC back to back. So happy to see you loving Rugby!

BTW that player (from the clip 3:20 in the video) was only 18 when he scored the try which was also his first try

9:56 depending on where they touch it down, the conversion kick (2 points) changes location.
So the best try is right under the posts, the farther out to the sides it is the harder the conversion kick is.

The captain is a brother too. The best of the best ever.
