As a South African, this video makes me happy. And Rugby is ROUGH. No padding or helmets or anything... Just giant scary dudes running full speed at you.

They fear us so much they're trying to change the rules now 😂

It’s called a scrum the heart of the rugby game and the South African Springbucks are obviously world dominant in that as well as many other parts of the game

Fun fact: the first recognizable football team was a college in Canada. American football is descended. From rugby. The South African team is a really inspiring story of the team with the worst backgrounds and worst circumstance that managed to claw their way up from defeat after the miracle of Brighton. For example, the player that start the fight at 4:34, has lost everyone that he ever cared for. His parents, his siblings, his grandparents, he had nothing left and still rose to the top. A lot of these older players grew up in a post apartheid South Africa and a lot of them in extreme poverty so to see the whole country rally behind them is truly amazing. They have become so dominant in the sport that some of the other teams are trying to make new rules just to put a damper on their strength.

In 1983 a rugby player named Naas Botha was a place kicker for the Dallas Cowboys.

What's beautiful about rugby is the physicality, the raw power but there aren't crazy stoppages like in American football. Mad respect for the Bokke! They are in the World Cup champions. My husband. is South African and we LOVE the sport.
