Also, sorry the background music is like barely audible, I don't know why it ended up being so low, lol

PunPun dumping a dead girl on two kids is pretty shitty, to say the least. Yes, if the police are looking for Aiko, it would look really bad if they found him with a dead Aiko. But dumping her on two children is like something BoJack Horseman would do to avoid consequences!

Just finished this manga a few days ago and having been pretty desensitized to disturbing depressing stuff, I cannot explain the amount of grief I felt when I saw the panel where she hangs herself.

Akio never forgot by the readers, for all good and bad (traumatazing) reasons

Its been a while since i read tgis manga but always stuck out to me is that aiko and punpun are kinda mirrors of each other. They both grew up in unstable households and were always searching for people to lean. However the only that sets them apart is that punpun always had people in his corner while aiko had no one to help her stand up and that scene of her dead on chapter 146 broke me.

I love how Asano writes the crime they commit because it actually is left pretty ambiguous who did it since her step mom had not moved between panels, making it unlikely she did awaken, and also the fact her mom had such a hold on her that she couldn’t even protect herself and Punpun stepped in after she was attacked. Given all the times Punpun lied to her, I wouldn’t be surprised if she lied to him perhaps to give him reason to keep living. It’s so complicated regardless of who, but it hurts me especially she told him she didn’t want to go yet took her own life.

i’m an artist, and i love referencing goodnight punpun and drawing some of the panels and characters. out of all of the characters, aiko tanaka is the one i truly struggle with drawing the most (which is sad because i love drawing her) simply because of her loneliness. you can feel it from her when Asano draws, almost like she radiates loneliness from the page. it’s extremely hard to replicate, honestly, and the fan art i see of aiko is also missing that empty, lonely feel that every single panel of her has. Asano is truly a talented and skilled artist and writer and i aspire to be as good as him one day.

Kagoshima is "the Vinland of Goodnight PunPun". That's a good way of describing it.

Incredible video, it deserves 100x the view count. I always get this intense melancholy when I watch videos about Goodnight Punpun, thank you for sharing.

4:42 I don't know why but I feel related to Aiko I also have an obsessive nature I have Head over heels in love with someone who I don't even know will and it makes me suffer the most one day choose someone over and then forget about me but she life is more worse than mine

10:08 In hindsight, yes, I should've stopped there.

Goodnight
