House targaryen: fire and blood.
House Lanister: hear me roar.
House Stark: winter is coming.
House Blackwood: fuck around and find out.

I can imagine the reception that kid got when he got home.

“Did you win the Princess Rhaenyra’s hand?”

“No. I did kill a Bracken though.”

“THROW THIS LAD A FEAST!!”

Gotta respect that kid, he drew that sword without hesitation at the Bracken’s insult, I don’t blame him either. Craven is a serious insult and that shithead was asking for it.

I feel like almost no one mentions that even the little Blackwood felt a little nauseous and feint after his victory. This is probably the first time he drew blood with his steel. He’s probably been training with his master at arms but never used his skills seriously.

“You’ll find my resume lying bleeding to death on the floor princess”

The fact a grown ass man bring a dagger to a kid who brings a sword is pathetically hillarious.

I think she acted like a brat here. Those are her father banner men, they also deserved respect and not treated like idiots to be mocked.

House Blackwood, fuck around and find out!

She insulted that Blackwood kid and all these years later, he still pledges to fight for her.  Rhaenyra really doesn’t deserve them.

One of King Jaeherys’ accomplishments was forging a peace between Houses Blackwood and Bracken that lasted 50 years. I wonder if this was the incident that broke the peace.

This scene is a perfect snapshot of the history and essence of the Blackwoods and Brackens. The Brackens are opportunistic bullies and when the hammer hits the steel, they turn out hollow and worthless. Meanwhile the Blackwoods are brave, honourable in every sense of the word, and despite being looked down by the world at large, always prevail by the end.

She totally disrespected the Blackwood kid. Fair play to him for having the balls to stand up for himself. Had more class then Rhaenyra.

He stood up for his house and for himself. This fight will make a wonderful story for that kid someday.

"You want to know what happened to the last guy who called me a craven?"

Blackwood on the 3rd insult is like "You wanna go?!"

I dont think anybody realises that the man sitting next to Rhaenyra is Boremund Baratheon, half-brother to King Jaehaerys himself.

When you watch this over and over and realize that she actually alienated the other lords while Alicent was working towards alliances.

A Royal proposal ceremony without at least one death is considered a dull affair.

I'd have picked the kid were I her. You're never expected to consummate a marriage too young, so she wouldn't need to worry about that. He genuinely seems to hold a lot of reverence and respect for Rhaenyra, which many other lords do not. The age gap is only like six or seven years, which as teens/young adults is barely anything especially once you've spent a few years together. He's a hell of a fighter, and probably grows up to be a handsome gigachad in the vein of Crispy Cole whom she clearly liked. She'd be his first, which a lot of people care about as it strengthens pair bonding. And on top of that, him looking up to her the way he clearly does likely means he'll not stray from her when he's fully grown, but be a good and loyal husband.

Willem Blackwood was the one that got away. Rhaenyra fumbled the Blackwood bag. Went for a wife murdering abuser instead. Ah, women.

Bloodraven probably be sitting in his tree rewinding and replaying this moment over and over smiling.

Our Blackwood boy had a glow up in the moat recent episode!
