My favorite part about Bertie Cavell's performance, is that there is an ever present tiredness to Baelor. He is honorable, chivalrous, charismatic, kind at all times; and it's tragic in a way. The Targaryens are in such a bad spot that Baelor has to be all of those things all the time because he needs to be this perfect crown prince. Unless I'm wrong, the only times he ever smiles is thinking back to the tourney with Ser Arlan, and the Lord Ashford sheep joke. Moments from his past and present where this royal burden wasn't so bad. Poor Breakspear.
I'm wondering if Bertie Carvel, the actor who played Baelor Targaryen, realizes he's become the "daddy" crush of the entire Game of Thrones female fandom, the world over?
I love how Prince Baelor is practically Ser Duncan's attorney. Maybe in another life, he'd be a great lawyer who can givr Phoenix Wright and Saul Goodman some competition.
This guy is a phenomenal actor. There wasn’t a weak scene amongst this but his crown jewel maybe a bit subtle and therefore, overlooked.
When Duncan asks Baelor if he remembers his former master, Baelor’s actor gives this really brief but amazing moment of recollection as he raises his head while chewing whatever it is he’s eating. A slight smile curls the edge of his lip on one side as he makes it visible known before he vocalizes it that he actually does recall Ser Arlan.
It’s just a moment but there’s people within the main cast of GoT that aren’t even that good at acting. I really hope this launches this guy’s career. Hero or villain, this guy can act
