how did jack making Elizabeth pirate queen  not get a win??

My favourite part of At World End is how the East India Company is more evil than Davy Jones

Cannot BELIEVE you didn't win the voting scene. Elizabeth voting for herself is up there with my favorite movie scenes of all time

I’m shocked you didn’t include two of the coolest details in this film:
1. All the pirate lords are actual pirates from that era. The Chinese lady is really cool.
2. Davy Jones had to rule lawyer the heck out of the sandbar meeting. Wet land rather than dry land, plus it’s a sandbar that’s not technically land half the day, plus plus a water bucket to stand in, plus plus plus he needed multiple buckets to walk through.

We really didn’t appreciate this movie enough when it was out. The first two set such a high bar

I love how consistently throughout the trilogy, every time Will opens his mouth he makes everything worse. But there's that one time where he basically saved everyone's life by telling Calypso (who was definitely going to kill all of them) who was responsible for her imprisonment.

"You can do nothing without the key!"
"I already have the key!"
"... No, you don't!" 🔑🤛
"Oh, that key."
Davy Jones falls for the same trick Will pulled on him during the dice game; Jack now knows where the key is, leading to him cutting Jones' beard apart to get it.

10:00 Barbossas "You may now kiss... you may kiss... JUST KISS" has always tickled me

Something from the DVD extras that no one outside that age will likely watch is that every Piece of Eight has a story behind it. They're not just random junk, they're sentimental junk.
Gentleman Jocard's Piece, a pair of tobacco cutters, was from his days as a slave before taking to the seas. And the coin in Jack's trinket is one of the two first pieces of treasure he ever pirated, the second piece being what he bought his hat with. (Also explaining why he's hung up on it and why him not caring after losing it in Dead Man's Chest was so big, bro's had that hat his whole pirating life.)

Honestly, I'm really shocked you didn't talk more about the INCREDIBLE score this movie has. Especially during the maelstrom. The buildup of strings into a crescendo of horns, madness, and seawater is one of the best feelings a movie has ever given me. As us kids say, ABSOLUTE CINEMA.

If we don't get Project hail mary I may cry. If we DO get Project Hail Mary I WILL cry, but for different reasons. Donesn't need to be next week but I am SO excited for this movie to be celebrated!

Something that I was a little surprised Lee didn't cover with either Dead Man's Chest or At World's End is just how many pratical effects both movies had in combination with all of their CGI. The Maelstrom fight was largely real, alongside the wheel fight and bone cage from DMC. I really feel like all three of the original Pirates films don't get their flowers when it comes to effects!

HOW did Barbossa saying JUST KISS not get a win

5:40 Barbossa doesn't call Sparrow "Blackheart". He calls him a "Blaggard" -  a scoundrel or rogue.

There are few movies quotes I use as much as "This is politics.". Absolute comedy gold

18:56 Possibly Project Hail Mary??? Yes PLEASE.

MY SHOW IS ONNNNN

5:49 What actually happened is Jack purposefully removed his hat so Barbossa could steal the trinket. These two know each other so well. Jack knows that they need chaos to win and Barbossa can tell Jack is giving him an opportunity while also satisfying his own needs. Small details making up the story.

I love Becketts death because throughout the trilogy he’s always had a majority of the cards. He’s always had a huge upper hand. Now at the end he’s in a position where all the cards he collected are no longer in his hand. So suddenly he feels like he has no moves and he doesn’t know how to respond.

I thought this ending landed perfectly.  Old seafaring tales always had that sort of melancholy tone where nobody won it all, and had some widow or another waiting and watching the sea.  This ending just feels right.
