We don't love a queue,we just think it's a good manner to take
your turn.

There's only two rules in British pubs.
Rule 1, don't be a nob.
Rule 2, if you're not sure about the etiquette, refer to rule 1.

One additional for rule for Americans, ssshhhh.....! We're not deaf.

2:49 No, we don’t like queues, we’re just polite enough to wait our turn.

Pub is short for "public house", that says it all. it's like a living-room for the entire community.

Brits do not love the queue we respect it there is a difference.

Rufus, my BLIND 14y.o. Parsons Jack Russell terrier used to lead me to the Hunting Lodge pub, as they had gravy bones.
We'd leave, and he'd take me to the Navigation, and finish off at the Soar Bridge Inn.
Blind as a mole, and could find all three ❤️
R.I.P. Rufus, my very best lad x

Most pubs in Britain will change their carpets when needed and shampoo them regularly, also a pub carpet will be a far more expensive to buy than a house one, far harder to wear out.

Also, when you leave a Pub, it is nice to thank the bar staff for their service

so many unwritten rules.  If we roll our eyes or tut, you are done for life

2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps is the name of a 90s UK TV show. It's a comedy 👍🏻

The invisible pub queue is real, but is sometimes reliant on the server to police

The invisible queue is real. I remember when waiting for buses in the UK that when the bus arrives everyone seems to get on in the order of who was waiting first. Of course, people arrive to the queue at different times but you learn that Brits make a mental note when they arrive at the stop of who was already there before them and wait till they have got on first they get on themselves. Nobody says anything. They just know!!

It's not the "tsk" you have to be worried about in an English or Scots pub. It's a working class blokes voice yelling oi!

An interesting fact about pub names: whatever the words chosen, the earlier ones are always things that can be painted on a sign - with the majority of the population being illiterate at the time, this was how a pub could be identified.  As literacy rates improved, names became more abstract. :)

Keep in mind that early pub names were ones that could easily be displayed in art form because most people could not read or write.  Typical examples are The Bull, The Red Lion, The King’s Head, The Plough, Coach and Horses, and so on.  It also explains why nearly all pubs traditionally still have a hanging sign with the appropriate pictorial (even folk art) representation.

I always walk the dog and stop off for a quick pint . It’s my dogs 🐕 second home

There is a pub local to me called The Bell End it has a mural of borris Johnson painted on the side 😂

Best Quiz Team name I ever heard "664, the neighbour of the beast".

My dad used to take our cross border collie/labrador to the pub every Wednesday.   At closing time the dog would shepherd him down the street and through our gate.  It was hilarious to watch.

Spoons where the toilets are 3 streets down and 1 village over
