Going to a BAR specifically so you can berate people from drinking alcohol is so wildly asocial and insanely arrogant behavior. 😂

Drew is such a great guest; Taylor's so lucky to have him on her channel

“Legalistic bond with demons” I love when these people show the way they perceive reality and it’s basically dungeons and dragons

to be fair, on taylor’s channel i also think “i hope drew is in this one!”

Years ago I, a non-Christian, was newly dating a Christian man. When it came to sex, he would initiate the act, but once  we were done he would sit at the edge of the bed and pray for forgiveness. 😂 The first time it happened I thought maybe he had true remorse, but then it kept happening. As a former Christian I finally looked at him and laughed and said, “You know it doesn’t work like that, right?”😂😂😂

5:44 - my husband makes sourdough from scratch every week. But he’s not a woman of god. I’m gonna keep him regardless because of the sourdough

Now if the girl at the bar met a man named Nebuchadnezzar, then maybe I would believe it was devine intervention lmaoo

Hello! Girl in the last video here! Thank you for reacting to this and praising my storytelling abilities! Definitely the craziest date I’ve ever had and it took me a while to get back out there after this one. I hope this gets back to him so he can see what an absolute creep he is! You guys are the best!

First woman honestly sounded like a scapegoat in the relationship. Her behavior is micromanaged so he doesn’t have to address his own.

I was a closet gay teenager in my baptist church,  and there was this weird season where the church was concerned that the teenagers were not pairing off with “Christians” in preparation for a biblical marriage,  so one of our youth group fundraisers was like a formal dance.   I was NOT interested in girls at all,  and the families of the church kept trying to pair me off with a girl to date,   And I managed not to get a date up until the dance.   Then at the dance, there was a girl there who didn’t have a date,  and wanted me to dance with her. I was so terrified of dancing or being intimate in any way with a person of the opposite sex, because I was gay,   That I kept saying no, and the girl ended up chasing me out to the parking lot trying to dance with me.   I locked myself in the vehicle we came in,  and stayed in there until the dancing was over.
Then… when the adults found out, instead of recognizing that I might be gay, they made up this big story about how I was trying to remain pure , and should be applauded for running away,  to keep my self from temptation.   This then started an argument between parents who decided to agree that a dance was an inappropriate thing for Christian teenagers to do,  and those who thought it was harmless fun, and those who thought it was necessary for us to pair off with other Christian’s.    It was a wild time to be a gay closet teenager.   I remained in the closet until my early 20’s,  and when I reconnected with the girl (who’s actually a really cool progressive person now) who chased me down,   She gave me that “it all makes sense now” smirk,  and we are on really friendly terms today 20 years later.

0:46 “Oh nooo, please don’t make me hang out with my wife and make money at the same time, that would be sooooo awful 🥺🙏”

Girlypop reading at the bar was giving major "Wattpad y/n reading a book at the One Direction concert because she's 'not like other girls'" energy 😂

my Christian dating horror story was my first ever boyfriend telling me he wanted to marry me, when I was 17 (he was 19), and when I said I wanted to go to college first he reacted by talking over me and telling me that I would like living in the town where he lived because they had a library. (that's just as good as going to college, am I right?) he talked about marriage and kids and everything and I remember feeling so scared and trapped. I talked to my mom later for advice and said I wanted to break up with him, but she told me not to because "you don't know if you're ever going to date again." when I was SEVENTEEN. I was so crushed by her words that I stayed in the relationship for another couple of months, until I spoke to a friend who actually had my back and told me I had every right to break up with him, and that I didn't have to settle like my mom wanted me to. I broke up with him the next time I saw him and never looked back.

When I was in college, a Christian guy I dated told me he was worried about my relationship with my (abusive) dad and how it would impact my relationship with him. When I explained my dads abusive actions, he told me about how a member of News Boys was abusive to his wife, and she stayed with him and he's healed and better now. So my mom divorcing my dad was the wrong move. I dumped him and he accused me of leading him on

My Christian dating horror story is that at 19 years old I was convinced by my church's teachings that I was going to be single forever (despite not wanting that). I heard what a "good christian wife" should be and knew that I just would never fit into that box no matter how hard I tried, so I knew that none of the men at church would ever see me as marriage material. At the same time, I couldn't be "unequally yoked" with someone outside of the church because that would be a sin, so dating a non-christian was not an option. In hindsight, I feel like I was being primed to settle and accept less. What a disgusting thing to teach a young woman who was very much searching for love and partnership in her life.

Not a horror story, but I tell it often as a cautionary tale:  at the end of the second date he asked if we could be exclusive.  I said I needed at least a bit more time and he called me on a work trip to tell me for an hour that he "didn't think men and women should be friends."
The third date was supposed to be a pumpkin carving party at his friend's house, ans I asked him to send me the address so I could meet him there. Cue a WHOLE ASS ARGUMENT about how he would drive me, what would people think if I didn't arrive with him? I told him I wanted to be my own ride to a house filed with strangers and he said he trusted them, so that should be enough for me. I told him I just want comfortable with that and, rather than TELLING ME WHERE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOING THAT NIGHT, he disinvited me. Then, he has the sheer audacity to tell me he'd see me for our next date instead.
No, there was not a next date.
I saw him a few months later at a church party and he texted me after that it was good to see me and he hoped we could be friends. Sorry! I'm pretty sure guys and gals can't be friends :)

Not a dating horror story because I was not dating. but I have had TWO christian men basically informing me they were in love without ever having been on a date and never showing romantic interest.

The first was a friend of a friend and we became quick friends, just vibing really quickly and really easily. We would hang out and chat, but not really ever anything else - walks, post church chats, very occasional messages. not even hanging out over coffee or anything. then one day, the afternoon before my final ever uni exam, i'm telling him i'm mega stressed and he goes "can i say something". now, he's the type of stereotypical dude who's just like "don't worry, you're so amazing, you'll be fine, just trust God" (ergh). anyway i'm like "ok, hit me with it". and this guy turns to me, on a busy street corner, and goes "i really like you." and bc i am overwhelmed by this and it's come so out of left field (and lowkey had a suspicion that he might be into me more than just  a friend, but no filter because shocked), so i respond "yeah, i figured" lol. anyway, year and a bit of friendship evaporated on the spot because it was too hard for him. we met up again after i was done with exams to actually talk about it and he asked me "do you think i'm misogynistic" and lowkey, he was a bit, so i said "yeah, a little bit. there's definitely a few things that have made me uncomfortable that you do or say where you mean well, but it just comes from a very skewed view of women" and this man goes "well, i have very feminist friends who appreciate what i do for them and how i look out for them, so maybe you should reflect on that and ask yourself why that offends you". this man was 4 years older than me, i was 22....

the second one was exactly a year later (to the weekend...). and we had been best friends for like a year and a half and i had established at the start of our friendship that this was only ever going to be a friendship, never anything else... a year and a half in he says "hey, a few people think we're dating, maybe we should just go on an actual date and just see". i say "mm, i don't see you that way" he says "ok no worries, maybe can we not hang out as much 1:1 for a few weeks and then see how things are for me going forward?". anyway, we do that, he then tells me that he's written songs for me and it was inevitable that he would FALL IN LOVE with me (bro??? you just asked me on a date to see if there was a vibe, now you've been in love with me??). and he wouldn't come back to a large group activity bc he would have to sit next to the little brother of a guy i kissed twice 8 months before this (and had not spoken to since). the guy i kissed had left for the other side of the country and his lil brother definitely never knew about me. and this guy, this "friend" can't sit next to that little brother for 2 hours a week. what a joke. he then tells me he's missed me (we've still seen each other at church at least once a week + small group once a week). and then that his therapist told him he should cut contact with me fully (not a chance a licensed therapist would advise like that, but ok). anyway, him being unable to cope with the rejection completely blew up our friendship group and i was left pretty friendless for a while. he then tried coming back a few months later saying "i heard you're mad at me. why?" and then a few months later had the audacity to say he wanted to be friends again. when i told him i would never be able to trust him again because he told me it was inevitable he would fall in love with me (talk about purity culture "men just can't resist women" bs), he said he understood that but it was hard. just go away, man 🙃

and then a few years later i left evangelism and found myself a sweet, loving, non churched guy who treats me like a human, not a juicy piece of meat!

Alright here’s my christian “dating” horror story. I was 17 years old and I worked at Chickfila at the time (shocker) and brought one of my non-religious coworkers, who I had slowly been becoming friends with, to youth group on Wednesday night. He was really nervous to go, but I told him it would just be food and games and a quick message. (Youth group was usually short and fun for retention purposes…) Well. The youth pastor decided to call my coworker up to participate in whatever game they were playing (he did not volunteer) SPECIFICALLY SO THAT he could call him out and tell him he “better be careful” with ME because I’m “like a daughter to him”. He said this on the mic to the entire room of ~100 teenagers. My poor friend was so humiliated he left. I was, in that moment, really glad he drove himself so that he could escape such an awful situation. I tried talking to the youth pastor about it afterwards because I was upset, and he just laughed it off like not a big deal. (Not that it should matter, but I want to stress that this was my fully platonic coworker who I was BARELY just becoming friends with…) Our friendship ended after that.

The girl at the bar gave me such crippling second hand embarrassment I had to mute it
