Coruscant, the capital and jewel of the Galactic Republic, many consider it to be a paradise unlike any other, but that is far from the case. On the lower levels of the world, crime is rampant and injustice is common. Though for the past few months whispers have circulated through the under-city about a vigilante cracking down on gangs and exposing several corrupt officials. Many refer to him as Coruscant's Dark Knight, but not all believe these rumours.
On one such dreary night, a group of gangsters pull inside a warehouse and go out to meet several black clad figures armed with vibroblades and hidden by balaclava masks.
Pyke Thug: You got the cash?
League Shadow: So long as you have what was promised.
Pyke Thug: Yeah, yeah, we’ve got it. I’ll have my boys unload the shipment.
With a nod to the other thugs, they unload several tanks of Dioxis Gas from their speeder truck and move them into the one near the group of black clad figures. However, after the thugs set down the first few tanks the lead assassin's eyes narrow as he glances around in suspicion.
League Shadow: Wait, we are not alone.
Pyke Thug: What the hell are you on about? There’s no one here!
Instead of answering the lead assassin spun around to his speeder truck and threw multiple shurikens at the railing above it. Forcing a figure cloaked in darkness to jump into the air, descending down as he kicks a thug into a wall before landing, knocking the criminal out whilst the other thugs’ eyes widen in fear upon seeing just who they were facing.
Pyke Thug: Oh kriff, it’s the freaking bat! Everybody scatter!
Not needing to be told twice the thugs sprint to their speeder truck and sped off while Batman deals with the assassins that move to engage. The first assassin attacks with a series of rapid strikes using his vibroblade which Batman dodges and blocks with his vambraces before landing a punch to the gut. He then takes the opportunity to take a hold of the assassin's wrist and disarms him before he sends the man sprawling with a punch to the face.
A second later he jumps to the side to dodge the shurikens being thrown at him by two other assassins whilst a third charges ahead. In response Batman quickly throws down a flashbang, momentarily blinding the assassins as he lays into the first one with a pair of jabs to the ribs followed by an uppercut before he grabs the assassin’s head and slams it into his knee. Not willing to give them a chance to recover, Batman throws several Batarangs at the two other assassins that deliver a high-voltage electrical shock which knocks them out cold.
As things begin to calm down the first assassin groans softly and tries to push himself up, only for Batman to grab him by the collar and slam him into the side of the speeder truck.
Batman: Who are you? Why were you buying Dioxis Gas?
League Shadow: You’ll never make me talk. For the shadows!
Giving one last defiant grunt the assassin bites on something in his mouth, causing him to foam at the mouth a few seconds later as he goes limp in Batman's arms. Shocked, the Dark Knight checks the assassin's pulse only to find no heartbeat. A few seconds later, Batman hears the sound of police sirens quickly approaching the warehouse.
Quietly cursing Batman swiftly checks the assassin's body for any clues on who he and the others are, eventually finding a coin with the insignia of a demon on it. Figuring it was the best he could get for now Batman throws down a smoke bomb and disappears into the night.
The next day Grandmaster Yoda and Mace Windu sit across from each other in a meditation chamber with grim looks of contemplation as the hologram of the Coruscant Police Chief cut out, having just been informed of the current situation.
Yoda: Troubling news, this is.

Durindfire force crystals are naturally found on Tatooine, and can create a silvery lightsaber blade. Looking like a clear common gemstone, they are both easily overlooked and very valuable.
