'i do believe in you, im just not afraid of you' is an stupidly hard line

Rise of the Guardians is such a good movie. I give it an A. Pitch was a damn good villain because of his charisma, perception, and hunger for being recognized. Plus the way he tries to bait Jack is incredible.

Pitch Black is one of my favorite villains. I think the real reason he was able to get inside Jack's head was because he understood him and sounded like a little voice that Jack wanted to hear. It makes him scary because he pinpoints every weakness Jack has carried with him. In other words, he is basically the dark reflection of Jack Frost. Both spent centuries being forgotten, but one chooses to follow the light, while the other chooses to follow the dark. You can imagine them swapping places as good and bad people because that is what a mirror villain does.

The best thing about him, though, is that no matter what, he should not be lost. Loosing your fear of reasonable dangers is how you wind up dead, after all.

Pitch was so good at being a villain the hero’s needed plot armour? I wouldn’t be surprised if so

The movie that deserves a sequel, and another shot of being a franchise or getting their own TV series

I also like how he's mostly silhouette like, as opposed to being particularly detailed in any manner.

Like he isn't bland, but he's not standing out horribly. You could imagine him genuinely hidden in a corner.

Fun Fact: while hes called the Easter Bunny it would infact be more accurate to call him the Easter Billby due to his heavily overt Australian design aspects from his accent and weaponry to even the area of the map that lights up to summon him being Australia, that and the fact his preportions would better line up with a billby (pointed ears, lanky but strong limbs, and fairly slim build) compared to a rabbit (who typically have floppyer ears more evidently muscular limbs, and bulkier body)

I was so happy when I found out someone was doing this about rise of the guardians. It’s a really good movie in my opinion.

Thematically speaking, Pitch Black is the perfect villain for Rise of the Guardians: Both him and Jack Frost want nothing more, to be believed by children. However, they're mirrors who at the end must oppose each other. Jack, by his very personality, before even he saw his own memories, always wanted to give children fun, and protect them; not forcing them to see him, but rather, respecting their freedom to believe, and wishing to be worthy of it one day.

But Pitch went on the opposite direction. He manipluated everything and everyone around him, to force children to believe in him, through fear, as well as Jack Frost, with emphtay, in order to gain an useful tool at his side. He took advantage of other people's beliefs in order to obtain the same goal Jack wanted, much faster, but that only benefits himself

Jack respects the faith of children, and he recieves that faith in the moment his Center was needed the most. But Pitch Black is someone who used lies, manipluation and fear in order to hijack that faith, and have it all for himself. Without caring of how much he would hurt the children the Guardians are meant to protect. The more you put it into perspective, the more evil he becomes

Pitch Black is a good example of a Pure Evil villain, who can can be extremely interesting and entertaining. Precisley because he's not meant to be morally grey, otherwise his name would be Plain Grey, a more symphatetic villain, maybe, but also a very uninteresting, boring, and dull one at that. His job as a villain, is to the blackest shade in the spectrum of morality, to contrast the protagonist's own morality, who is in the crossroads, between joining forces with Pitch, or siding with the Guardians and the children

To bring back the basics of storytelling: A good Villain challenges the Protagonist, in order to transform them into the Hero the story needs. In this case, Jack Frost is the protagonist, but he cannot be called a proper Hero yet; until the climax, where he has to put the Moral Lesson he learned, in the Low-Point of the story, into practice to save the day with everyone. But in order to get into that Low-Point first, it was necessary for Pitch Black to be as evil as he ever could, taking away as much things from Jack as possible, so he had no other choice but to stop, and look for an answer in himself, rather than in anyone else

The funny thing about Pure Evil villains, is that they weren't made ths way, this is just who they are. But their job is not to be relatable; it's to make the Protagonist judge their own morality, by representing what they could become, if they don't take the correct choices. In this case, a Hero can never be born, it can only be made, as a result to the Villain's own actions, and people not being interested in dealing with their nonsense, their self-serving schemes to rise to power, and being an overall pest for everybody

Oh Yes! After all, manipulative villains need to be patient and scary! Maybe this will be great if you could write on how The Spot from Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse became the best example of how to write a Joke Villain and transform him into a component and scary villain!

There’s a dramatic irony that all those who use fear as a weapon are ultimately consumed by it.

One of my favorite villains while also having a heartbreaking backstory if you ever take the time to read those amazing books!!

How about what DreamWorks and Sony understand about female characters (Gwen Stacy from Spider Verse and Huntrix gals, Rumi, Mira and Zoey from Kpop Demon Hunters from Sony, and Tigress from Kung Fu Panda, Susan Murphy, Roxanne, and especially my beloved Astrid Hofferson from DreamWorks) that Disney doesn't (Raya, Asha, Elsa, Anna, Mirabel, Moana, Billie Doe and even Vanellope from Ralph Breaks the Internet)

Johan Liebert would be proud. These are my favorite types of villains because they feel the most real. I love a good over the top villain, but this style is truly terrifying.

Pitch Balck is the best villain for me and where I found out about it his back story oh boy I didn't expect that he used to be the greatest hero but darkness consumer and brainwash him completely

I love Rise of the Guardians I’ve probably watched it at least 3 times, though it’s been a few years since I’ve watched it

What he does in the books and his book backstory is insane.
