Imagine the nightmare of surviving an accident, not able to speak, etc and being surrounding by strangers calling you someone else's name.

I feel bad for Laura's family. they were so happy that their daughter survived, but suddenly the nightmare came back. I hope Whitney visits Laura's family sometimes.

Another explanation for changelings is that around 2-3 years old (when babies were most often 'switched') is around when traits of certain neurodevelopmental disorders start to become apparent! Similarly it can explain SIDS and 'failure to thrive'

My husband was fighting cancer for 5 years and this past September he had a major surgery then chemo through thanksgiving & christmas. I would be up late getting house work done during the night after my kids go to sleep and him being in bed. Just know your podcasts helped me through it a lot. And I appreciate everything you do. ❤️

The changeling legends are almost certainly linked to autistic children in the case of the young changelings and the onset of schizophrenia in the older teens.

the story of whitney and laura has become a medical/first responder drama trope in tv

The story with the college girl got my heart strings. My mom used to sing “You Are My Sunshine” to me every night until I moved out of her house (I am 28 and she still sometimes sings it to me when I am sad). I have that line tattoed on my shoulder in her handwriting and she has a matching sun. I know sing the song to my little niece and call her my sunshine

23:12 There’s actually a brain disease where somebody can actually become convinced that people they love have been replaced by imposters for various reasons.. It’s heart breaking to read about.

1st story. It was a hemi hauling nitric acid. People jumped into what they thought was water. It was more nitric acid. Fire was everywhere. Their feet were burning. Melting. Nothing ghostly. Ghastly. I hope the families are healing.

@mcr9687 6 months ago

my chemistry ass was already screaming "don't let the acid drink!!" as soon as you said they jumped in the water (ps it is a very common way of saying in chemistry labs to remember that mixing water and acids is dangerous)

I personally like these videos better where I can see you speaking. It just feels like I'm having a coffee chat with someone about spooky things. 🙈

My oldest brother died in 1948 at 5 years old. I was born in 1954. His child spirit body ran by me in 1970. Long story, but I could never tell my parents about it as it would have been devastating. He was being playful, but reassuring me that there is an afterlife. This was a really important video about Whitney. Bless you all, and thank you.

That last one sounds like an absolute nightmare! I had a stroke a few years ago and I remember when I woke up I was very disoriented and scared but I recognized all the family that was there for me still as i began to recover. I can't even imagine waking up and seeing a bunch of strangers and then being unable to communicate clearly for a while who you really are oh my God thst is terrifying

I recently saw a documentary about the second story. I think their conclusion was that it was groups on pilgrimages getting caught in bad weather. Hail specifically. Like the story, but natural.

The sister story... Wow. WTH? So many mistakes! Unacceptable. Glad one survived though. Imagine being that girl and a strangers family is always with her. Absolutely wild. So sad for that family though. I can't imagine the miracle Whitney's mother felt when she seen her daughter alive. ❣️🌹

@siriuslee137 11 months ago

I can't imagine how awful it would have been to think your sister/daughter lived only to find out that several people didn't do their due diligence. I can't even begin to think of the nightmare of the families having to coordinate funeral costs after the fact, changing head stones, and maybe even having a makeup funeral for Laura since it was Whitney's funeral originally. I'd be so angry at the hospital/morgue/first responders, but I'd feel so overwhelmed, I wouldn't even know what to do next. I feel so bad for both families, but more so for Laura's family because they were given false hope for five weeks, only to find out she was dead the whole time.

The bone lake, if the oldest ones are dated from the 7th century that would be in the 600's. The 8th century festivals would have been in the 700's and not the 900's.

@ElisesCozySavefile 6 months ago

Whitney's family had a miracle while Laura's family discovered they have lost everything they thought they still had.

@yvaincallipso84 6 months ago

The Mystery lake story upsets me so much, mainly because tourists have taken to displacing the bones and making "sculptures" out of them as well as taking them as "souvenirs"
