🐍 Herpetology nerd over here! 👋 If you’re ever bitten by a venomous snake, don’t try to suck venom from a bite. Once it’s in the bloodstream it’s traveling around the body with every heart beat. Think of dropping a blob of ink into a cup of water - you can’t suck it the ink back out with a straw. Instead, try to remain calm and keep your heartbeat as slow as possible. Take a picture of the snake that bit you (if you safely can), and make your way to the closest hospital to begin antivenin treatment. If you aren’t sure if the bite is from a venomous species, it’s best to get checked out regardless (and take a pic with you). If you have venomous snakes on your property, do NOT try to move them yourself. This is when the vast majority of envenomations happen in the US. Instead, stay back and secure other pets, monitor rhe snakes location, and contact your local animal control, police department, or speciality reptile store to send someone to assist you. Remember that most snakes bite when they’re startled or scared. Otherwise they keep to themselves and are very beneficial to wild habitats. They’re courteous creatures that have evolved wonderful ways to let us know they’re present - hissing, rattling, spitting, and in some species standing up and showing you their hood. Let’s remember they’re not monsters out to get us. They’re just doing their best to live around us in an increasingly crowded world ❤

story 6: jim having to beg and make op feel bad for her to say yes to trying his kink is coercion, and a coerced “yes” IS NOT CONSENT.

the most important parts of ANY form of kink is everyone involved consenting and extremely solid boundaries throughout.

the scary part about coercion is that you don’t immediately see the damage it’s doing like with more blatant forms of r*pe. it’s not one huge traumatic event, it can happen over and over without you even realizing you’re being assaulted. it’s harder to notice the loss of autonomy because you view it as “well i DID say yes and chose to go through with it…” but you’re still having your autonomy taken away, and that causes psychological damage.

if someone has to beg, or make you feel like it’s something you’re supposed to do, or say “if you really love me you’d do this for me,” or whatever else to convince you to say yes EVEN ONCE they’re showing you that they’ll cross your boundaries and take your autonomy away for their own gain. don’t ignore that behavior, it’s a red flag for abuse.

I am so sick of people on Reddit saying, “our relationship was so great, we never fought” NOT HAVING ANY DISAGREEMENTS WITH YOUR PARTNER IS A BAD THING! Of course you shouldn’t be screaming and arguing all the time, but living your life with someone is not easy. It requires significant communication and a lot of the time that communication can be challenging, vulnerable, confrontational. If you never have hard conversations with your partner someone is lying, lying to themselves, or both!

2:37 the vagina is basically self-cleaning oven! It self-cleans and self-regulates it's own Ph! You don't need to put anything up there to "clean" or make it smell different. Doing so will make you MORE likely to get conditions like yeast infections, uti's, and allergic reactions. You're fine just cleaning the external area with just soap and water. Companies are inventing a problem so they can sell you the solution.

The troll is DEEPLY disturbed. She should absolutely report him to authorities, and if it's possible, get a protective order for her and her daughter. Once those dopamine hits wear off, he is absolutely capable of physical harm. His lack of remorse even when he knowingly contributed to a child ending their life is beyond disgusting.

42:34 I’d actually go to my mom straight away. I’d take screenshots or pictures of the messages. (Proof in case she needs a divorce) I would then tell my mom to take my dad’s phone asap so there would be no suspicion and he wouldn’t have time to delete everything. Such a fucked up situation

Story 4 made me physically nauseous. I remember reading Leelah's note when it originally posted. This was a girl who was subjected to conversion therapy by her parents, pulled from school, and completely isolated because they didn't "agree" with her being trans and attracted to men. They didn't even honor her wishes in death, burying and eulogizing her under her deadname. The thought that this man was among those making life even harder for this girl makes me violently angry. She was 17. She would've been 29 today. And to be honest, I still think sometimes about how badly we failed her final wish to "fix society, please."

I'm really glad OP got her and her daughter away from this monster who prioritizes this cruel method of "stress relief" over other people's safety and stubbornly refuses to see other people as human.

mORGAN. I was less sickened by the 69 shit story than i am at story 6, I WANT TO THROW UP. Most littles do not make it sexual from what I understand, and he is coercing her into something she doesn't want to do. The brother should be judging his friend, not his sister. COERCION IS SA. PERIOD.
