It hurts because Anne Hathaway was a natural beauty. She was the old Hollywood classic look. She had a face we hadn't seen in a long time.

I don't understand why the industry doesn't just use "fat suits," rather than demanding actors/actresses to gain/lose weight. With all of the technology we have available, CGI/AI ought to be able to help make any "fat suit" seem more realistic.

people dont appreciate how much of a privilege it is to get old until they lose a friend their age. one of my first ever friends in college will never be older than 17, and i feel their absence every day, every milestone, and in everything. its a privilege to get old, because not everyone gets that opportunity

Whenever I watch movies from the UK, Ireland, France, Scandinavia, etc. I’m always struck by how A) women actually look their natural age, and B) how pretty and elegant they are after 40. Obviously actors are expected to look good and stay in shape, but they look like normal people. And that’s so refreshing.

I remember that Anne Hathaway would always get praised or be a reference on social media for being „unproblematic“ and therefore „aging well“, implying that women that are „problematic“ are at their own fault for looking ugly/old…

10:44 This is absolutely freaking wild because having seen The Devil Wears Prada and I didn't clock any difference in her weight between either the beginning or end of the movie, or even between Anne Hathaway's character and the fashionista characters she was working with. The literally all just look skinny to me so putting the actresses thru that seems absolutely pointless

We have really never had middle age representation of women. Theyre either 20-30 and play 16-27 year olds. Or women over 60 to play white haired grandmas

Why could they not have just filmed the later parts of the film for Devil Wears Prada first and just ask Anne to gain weight after the fact and film the beginning parts of the film later? It feels cruel to have her weight fluctuate twice for one production when they could've easily avoided it by shooting out of order.
