What would be the easiest apocalypse to survive? Now I’ve covered a ton of different apocalypse movies and shows on this channel for a long time, anything with an apocalypse whether it be right at the start, deep into the apocalypse, if it’s just some kickass resistance vs entity type story, I’m in. If it uses the apocalypse to tell a deeper story with themes about humanity and love and survival, I’m in! If It’s critically panned and has almost no redeeming qualities… I’m in!

As someone with a chronic illness, I feel like I would fare okay in WWZ.

The Shaun of the Dead is what I'm opting for.

The difference between TWD and Falling Skies is Falling Skies knew when to end

ik one thing, ITS NOT TERMINATOR

The Road movie's apocalypse, fallout, metro, and the stand are all ones you can cover that don't have anything to do with monsters of any kind, at least as the cause of the apocalypse, they're simply the world after a catastrophic event like nuclear war or a global pandemic.

Falling skies mentioned, i see youre a man of culture

1:25 oh come on. Dragon glass is just obsidian, and we have flamethrowers and easy access to other fire stuff. White walkers would be a piece of cake.

The resistance in the Skynet Apocalypse didn't need time-travel to win. John Connor led them to victory against the machines, and that is why Skynet sent a Terminator back in time to kill him before he achieves that.

Surprised you didn’t mention disaster movie apocalypse. Day after tomorrow, 2012, moonfall etc

Kind of unrelated, but what makes the Last of Us series particularly tragic is that the infected humans arent technically dead to a degree. They still have pretty full awareness but are completed controlled by the infection in mind and body in such a way that they are forced to helplessly watch and attack and eat other people
You can even hear some of the infected begging for it to end, further indicating a part of their humanity is still active but they can’t do much

Requests for follow up video:
-Fallout
-The Maze Runner (the world, not just the movie)
-From (not the world, just how hard to survive in Fromville 😂)
-Zombieland

Also… Pacific Rim, but almost as its own discussion about movies that are technically apocalypses, but ‘average people’ functionally don’t even have any agency or input in their fate. Basically that it’s an apocalypse much like say cloverfield, but we aren’t getting told from the perspective of a civilian group trying to make it out alive and instead are getting the military/giant mech’s perspective. What would it be like as a cloverfield style group trying to just survive after a giant robot throws a container ship through your apartment building?

12:19 this movie is kinda ridiculous because the military would notice their sensitivity to sound and use it against them before too long

As a type 1 diabetic I hate this question. I live as long as my insulin exists, and stockpiles are near meaningless because it goes stale fast. So I can survive for a few weeks, or months if I'm lucky, even in the most milk-toast of scenarios.

I never understood why the creatures from the quiet place weren't destroyed, the second we found out they use sound the military would have tested every frequency until they found one that hurt them or killed them.

The thing about zombie apocalypse world building is eventually supply lines get established and zombies don’t mount counter attacks or destroy and beat back the front line. So once we get one supply line going then the easier it gets to get the next one going again and again. we were able to maintain a decent supply line of ice cream in World War II and people find it unrealistic that we can’t do it against zombies.

if we're talking livable apocalypses, station eleven has it pretty good all things considered, but despite the hopeful ending, its sheer realism makes the mind-eating grief of any survivor feel too tangible for me to feel comfortable going on in their shoes. then again, that's what the whole story is about...

bro left out some fan favorites here such as Mad Max, Fallout, The book of Eli and of course Zombieland

1:25 small correction, dragon glass is the in universe name for obsidian, and dragon fire (despite having some magical properties) is soeculated to be mostly useful against the others because of how hot it is, with the largest dragons having a fire so powerful that it was compared to the heat of the sun, so yeah, a nuke and they are death

2:57 I'm glad that someone FINALLY remembered Wayne Dunlap (It's over a decade late, but it counts lol) 😂🤣

A full-on AI uprising Battlestar Galactica style? Or something not necessarily apocalyptic but still difficult/mind-boggling to survive the aftermath of, like Leftovers/Thanos snap?
