It's a shame that a government actually doing some governing and future planning is considered radical, it's what they're meant to do. I'm not sure if these plans will ultimately sort our problems out but at least it's something, gives us a bit of hope.

The 2.5% down payment must be done with a massive increase of Supply. Otherwise it will only drive up the price of property market. And worst we are already at the highest of recent property boom, a collapse of economic shock would be catastrophic. But all in all a lot of these changes were much needed. It is more of a centre left or even centre right policy. But getting something done is better than nothing.

You know, this really just highlights how much of a waste of time Kier Starmer's premiership was. The announcements made here aren't by Burnham here aren't that radical all things considered, but compared to Starmer whose communication was so poor and uncessarily secretive and whose policies were always the 'safest' politically for him, and who didn't seem to have a vision for the future of Britain. They seem radical by comparison.

The triple lock half measure is a waste of political capital. Boomers hate him anyway. Tie it to wage geowth.

The big problem in this country is that workers get poorer whilst pensioners are treated with silk gloves. Im sick of it

Solicitor here, when you say there are two types of property ownership, Freehold and Leasehold, you forgot to mention Commonhold which is another type of ownership

4:20 the NHS costs many times more than £18b plus we already pay for social care in council taxes.
It's the largest item.

When we build blocks of flats, we give 999 year leases and a SHARE of the freehold to the flat owners. This is also a standard form of of property ownership and likely to become more popular over time.
