I'm sorry, "you need botox?!" This woman is being very polite considering the MUA barely seemed to listen to her, and even essentially insulted her. And she gave her clubbing makeup, not natural bridal makeup.

that first brides makeup was awful, and the artist told her that she needed botox??? yeah because you aged her 30 years LMAO

Imagine telling a client "you NEED botox" because you don't want to admit the way you do makeup ages people.

15:40. I'd rather go to the wedding barefaced than with makeup like that

@Rompetroll-c9r 1 year ago

She said WHAT?! She can't tell someone who comes in for a make up test to get botox! I would've stood up and walked out immediately!

There was a "reality" show years ago called Jerseylicious, and the makeup artist, Alexa, would speak so passionately about the art of makeup and the importance of certain techniques when it came to doing makeup that was going to be photographed. I'd never heard anyone talk about it like that before, and honestly had never really thought about how photography would affect how makeup looked, so she was my favorite part of the show. It's just like Robert, I love hearing people who are really knowledgeable and passionate about a subject talk about it!

It seems that none of these supposed makeup artists have an idea what a natural makeup look is. Many many brides want a natural look for their wedding look and yet the supposed makeup artists all want to do a dramatic look on these women. I agree with you Robert, just because a person can do a decent makeup look on themselves doesn’t make them a makeup artist who can charge people for a service… especially for their wedding day! 🤦🏼‍♀️

You are A Master! Some of us don’t even see what’s wrong, only that it’s ugly to us. When you state the problem it like, YES! 😧 Professionals like yourself need to show off your skills! Thank You!!
Edited to add: “Yes, I’ve purposely done my lips to look like I’m dying” is my Summer 2025’ catch phrase 💖💜💙

If you are not happy either speak up and ask she does what you want, change make up artist or just do it your own way. I did my own makeup for my wedding because i never got my makeup done before and i just know what i like and wanted

Almost all Asian bridal makeup artist don't do trials for this reason. You have to risk choosing one and end up looking like that on your wedding day. It happened to me 😢

"People should be arrested for service they can't actually do" 😂😂😂 This made me laugh so hard. Love you Robert 🤍

This is why I always ask them to send me a few inspiration photos because everyone’s view of natural or glam is very subjective. I tell them to look for people that have similar skin tone, eye shape, age, etc. Then we talk about what they like about each photo and discuss how much makeup they normally wear so I can garage their overall comfort with makeup on their skin. Because even a very light application of a soft bridal makeup will feel like a ton to someone that never wears makeup and I want to prepare them for that.

6:14 1) That’s definitely not natural 2) Not a pinkie lip 3) No pinky eyeshadow, and that literally is dramatic makeup 4) not natural eyebrows . The makeup artist didn’t listen at all and did whatever she wanted . Make up artist obviously only knows how to do full full coverage make up and isn’t versatile .

I am by no way a makeup artist, and even I was like "what are these makeup artists thinking?" I'm so thankful my friend, who is a MUA, did mine for my wedding day, she actually listened and did really good. If I got these results I would have cried.

12:30 It's kind of shocking to me that "professional" (saying that in quotation marks based on the part about people calling themselves MUAs when they're untrained) MUAs don't consider photography when doing wedding makeup! I cosplayed for years and how my makeup would look in photos was one of the main considerations because, of course, people may be taking photos of my cosplay as I walk around the convention. If an amateur like me can consider that when doing my makeup, I'd assume it would be a consideration for a professional when doing someone's bridal makeup! People typically pay a lot of money for wedding photographers and videographers, of course they want to look good in them!
