The internet has gotten way too comfortable tearing people, especially women, apart for their looks. In today’s video, we’re breaking down two different stories that recently blew up online:
A girl who gets nonstop hate for her own makeup choices
Another girl who’s attacked for supposedly “looking older than she is”

Both situations show how extreme beauty standards, TikTok commentary culture, and online projection have created an environment where young women can’t win, no matter what they do.

social media treating “bad skin” like a moral failure more than the actual moral failures that we’re seeing day in day out in real life is just seriously disturbing. a lot of people have exposed themselves as insanely ugly on the inside and they’re trying so hard to make us believe this is the right/normal way to think

They are not just bullying the 25yr old surfer girl, they are bullying every girl and woman with imperfect skin. Having perfect skin does not make you better it just makes you more fortunate. These bullies are shallow.

Side Note: Cancer treatments like Chemo and Radiation ALONE can age the skin/body by 7 years on average- now add the stress of almost dying, they will probably survive treatment looking 10-15 years older due to stress.
Imagine how nasty it would be for people to only care about you "aging" when you are lucky to be alive. A lot of stress really does age people- however kindness is always beautiful and timeless ❤

What annoys me is how people beg for individuality/creativity and natural faces (no filter,filler,Botox,etc) but the moment we get that this happens.

Whether we want to admit it or not at this point in society we don’t want originality. If someone is doing something unique we bully them!

People forget, if she is a surfer, that is probably more about wind-damage. After snow skiing for a few days, I am dried and weathered looking. And I am never without sunscreen.
But also, shut up. I totally agree with her; women need to stop tearing other women down. Not to mention, her smile was beautiful, genuine, and lit up her face. That’s the kind of beauty that can’t be faked.

Ugh. People can be awful. I'm a 31 year old woman with PCOS. I have a beard if I can't be bothered to shave too many days in a row. Does that mean I don't take care of myself or am an awful person. Of course not. Just like people's skin or makeup. Ridiculous. My husband loves me either way so why would I care what other people think about my stupid ovaries?

What I’m taking away from the reaction to the 25 year old’s “bad” skin is that people LOVE to police confidence if it comes from someone who doesn’t meet their own personal standards of beauty, and if they can weaponise it to make themselves feel better

We need to STOP moralizing on health and beauty. It’s all a mix of genetics, knowledge, resources and luck. You can “work” just as hard as the next person, and achieve better or worse results. Let’s just be kind.

They are literally harassing and bullying that girl for having mature skin and then turning around and telling her it's HER fault for how people are treating her online and that she's making it worse as if THEY AREN'T THE ONES BULLYING A STRANGER. SHE'S HAVING A NORMAL REACTION.

She has distinctive eyebrows and eyeshadow, but honestly, it's not actually badly applied. Like it's not most people's style, but it IS actually applied well and pretty evenly. It's just her distinctive style

For Leia, one thing I noticed is that the internet hates colors. They hate bright colors. Like I always see someone shitting on a woman for wearing bright colored makeup. That’s why so many people are boring and beige lol
