Hey  Brother. Chad is the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I have watched this video with Chad about 100 times!!! He is a legend!

Most of the drummers in that series gave complete listens to the songs they were given and took notes, wrote time stamps for change ups and breack downs befor giving it a try. But Chad gave it 20 seconds and said okay let's do this.

He's a legend man , dudes a drum God.

most people listen to the entire drumless track and then play it. Chad waited 20 seconds and dove in. This episode should be called 20 seconds to Chad haha

He didn't get to read any notes or hear the song through in full, he just jumped in there within seconds of hearing a drumless track for the first time. Many others listen to the song drumless at least once and do a couple of takes and even take notes. He's insanely brilliant, you can't even hear when he is behind the odd time processing what's coming, he makes everything fit and catches up. His brain is like some computer the entire time. Unbelievable

Chad smith and flea started a tv show about freestyle jamming lessons in the late 80’s that aired at 3am when no one saw it but it was a key to a type of style that is still used till today

Better than the original. God blessed talent! Complete 🔥

Chad is legendary and still at the top of his game. RHCP are kind of a jam band in the way they create music. He’s been doing this longer than I’ve been alive, and I’m not even a young one.

I've seen so many reactions to this video, your's is among the top 3! Awesome how you are genuinely impressed and erntertained!

He is familiar because you saw probably saw him in one of these movies:
•Elf
•Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgundy
•Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Chad is such an incredible drummer, so underrated

Man I been done forgetting that you was knowing what we forgot. Iss crazy

Red Hot chili peppers Rock go Chad Smith he's the best

All others take 3 listens and a few takes. Chad jumps in after seconds and kills it, as good or better than the original. His attitude and talent are great. Love your reaction as mine was similar. 👍

4:04 it's called multi-tracking and its been the foundation of music production since leo fender invented it in the 50s. guitars, vocals, drums and bass are recorded separately and mixed by a producer, who will add other stuff if he feels the song needs it. hire a string section to come in for a day session, etc.

Hi friend! Beautiful reaction, love to see other people getting so hyped over talented musicians. I'm sure you've heard this all before but Chad Smith is best known for being the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers... but he's been playing drums longer than some of us have been alive. I know I personally am impressed when he goes into the breakdown and, after hearing it ONCE, pairs the drums to the guitar strumming. After seeing this (because it went viral), I watched some other videos of these on Drumeo and it just made me more impressed because in the other videos, the other PROFESSIONAL, TALENTED drummers listen to the song (without drums) at least once before putting in their interpretations of how it should go. Chad listened to just the verse and pre-chorus and, with his wealth of knowledge, jammed from there and was INCREDIBLE. It just goes to show what true masters of their craft are capable of. We love to see it.

He nailed it

He had to make it up on the spot, Super dope DRUMEO.

Seen it, but it is still GREAT111
