Argentina Have Already Found Their Post-Messi Plan | Tim Vickery

FC Camisa

Argentina have played their first game since the World Cup, and their first real glimpse of life after Lionel Messi might already be here.

Tim Vickery breaks down Argentina’s 4-0 win over Bolivia and explains why Lionel Scaloni staying could be an even bigger story than Messi leaving.

From Nico Paz and Franco Mastantuono competing to shape Argentina’s attack, to Boca Juniors teenager Leonel Flores showing signs of becoming an Ángel Di María-style weapon, Argentina’s next generation is beginning to emerge.

Tim also looks at Exequiel Palacios’ influence in midfield, Cristian Romero captaining Argentina in his hometown, the Lautaro Martínez-Julián Álvarez partnership, and what Argentina still needs to learn against stronger opposition.

Is Argentina already building the team that will take them towards 2030?

Palacios is the best player in Ipswitch town. He is the top rated performer for the club. I think he is among the top 5 Defensive midfielder in EPL.
I think Tomas Aranda and Lionel Flores of Boca are going to be the key players for Argentina in 2030

Always a pleasure, Tim. 🇦🇷 Happy to see Flaco be part of this group in formation. I know he is well loved in Brasil, always a competitive league.

I think Prestianni, Montoro, Echeverry, Panichelli, Soule, Mastantuono, Castro, Paz, flaco Lopez, Flores and others are a plentiful pool of talent for the front. Same in the midfield with Equi Fernandez, Barco, Palacios and Perrone on top of Enzo and Macca.

Thanks for your comments, Tom. As a Boca fan Leo Flores is our little toy too, but we also have an even better player, Aranda who is injured right now but will play a great role in this new Argentina. He already played for the national selection. 🇸🇪 🇦🇷

I only hope those kids will nurture their talent. Not like Neymer or Vinicious with so much difficulties. And they will be the golden generation of Argentina.

The next wave of Argentina is gonna be fun to watch. And they played much faster than in the World Cup.

Thanks for the pod as always Tim. Ipswich fan here - really excited to have Palacios here. He has started well and looks a classy player, as you'd expect. I expect him to improve more as he settles in. He is all over the pitch winning a lot of defensive contributions - we haven't seen much of him going forward yet but I think that will come with time. Early days still but he's definitely a fan favourite here already. Could end up with cult status like his compatriot Mauricio Taricco did at right back several years ago.

aranda is going to fit so nicely in this team. also this team has room for dybala. i think overlooking him would be foolish. maybe not a world cup but for copa america he should get a run

Love the content. In my region, for whatever reason, there's an overabundance of advertising on just about all of your videos. Is there any way to subscribe directly through a different platform?

There will be no N10 until next Copa América.
It is not mandatory to use it on friendly matches.

Did you really say that the bigger headline for this game is Scaloni staying over Messi's last game for Argentina? Did you bump your head? You think that's why the stadium sold out in an hour? Literally the most absurd thing I've heard.. maybe it's because you support Brazil. Its almost as ridiculous as you insinuating that Di Maria was equally or more important for the team than Messi

Hey Tim 👋 how goes mate? Remember Lautaro scoring that header against England. It came home: the team-> Heathrow. Anyways. Nice you remembered. Greets.
PS: happy to remind you for the next 4 years. No sweat lad, my pleasure.
