"She's not letting me open my present !" Girl you're her mom.. PARENT HER tf

Fun story: My sister doesn’t allow her kids to be on tablets when they’re having dinner, but obviously kids can get bored when you take them out to eat. So my brother in law, rather than give them coloring pages or activity books? He taught them solitaire. I’m not even joking, he’ll bring two sets of cards and let my nieces play solitaire. And it works! My nieces are well behaved and so engrossed in their game they don’t have the time to cause a fuss.

The image of whatever waiter they have coming up and seeing a 7 year old and a 5 year old deep in a game of solitaire cracks me up so much.

Speaking of the dumpling mom... The mom is a toy collector and doesn't even let her kid play with the glitter dumpling that she took from her roommates kid!

26:14 I hate when people compare being tired. Everyone's threshold for what is "exhausting" is different. Everyone has their own struggles and battles. If I say I'm tired after working a 70 hour work week in the ER I'm not going to shit on my friend who works from home. It's not a competition.

so many parents confuse "gentle parenting"  with not parenting at all. You can be emotionally there for your children, understanding, and discipline them without hitting them or being overly rough with them. Theres an in between of corporal punishment and being way too overbearing on your child and not parenting at all 😭

"I hope you get a glitter one too" because she knew she wasnt gonna be able to keep it😢😢😢

You don’t have to be a parent to recognize shitty parenting.

child dev major and preschool teacher here, reminder for parents that having firm boundaries with your kids is your child’s first model of how to have strong boundaries. Enforcing your “no” and making sure your “no” holds power shows your child that their “no” holds power as well as other people’s “no” aka, telling your child no is the first stepping stone to protecting your child from non consensual touch as well as making sure your child knows how to respect boundaries. If your “no” holds no weight as a parent then your child will learn that their and others boundaries are optional  and thats a SLIPPERY SLOPE.

The “toy library” statement is CRAZY considering you can literally take your kid to the ACTUAL LIBRARY to play with the toys for free. Like, that’s literally what a library is for.

"Shes not letting me open my presentttt" girl you are not the sibling, you are the mother. Act like it?? 💀

The mom with the dumpling is such a horrible mother. Shes teaching her kid to be just as selfish as she is

So many of these are perfect examples of those parents who act confused when you say you're child free because you don't wanna miss out on things because they "can still do everything, just bring the kid". Sometimes as a parent you have to leave the restaurant, leave the movie, leave the store. You have to follow through. You have to be willing to miss out or your child learns they have control over you.

I have a toddler, and when she screams in public, we start whispering. Mom and I will both lower our voices and start whispering, then we will say “Shhh. We are whispering,” with a finger to our lips. Our little girl will then spend minutes shushing us, and whispering her yells and babbles. It’s now a game we’re all playing together.

The mom whining that her daughter is opening her present to her husband is exactly how I sounded when my brother took things from me when I was 6 years old

People will say “don’t get me wrong, I love my kids more than anything” and then proceed to say the most heinous shit about how much they hate their kids

Just letting your child scream relentlessly in a restaurant is not how you teach or socialize your child.
Mom, here.
And yes, my offspring was a toddler once too.
And I absolutely chose outings, such as restaurants, based around activities he'd enjoy (thus be less inclined to scream in dispair), and based on 'is it appropriate?' for him, me, other patrons that may be there...

I never assumed that everyone, everywhere we went enjoyed wild-untamed children.

And there were absolutely times when he just wasn't up for it. So we stayed home or did something else. Not a difficult concept.

And a few times his behavior was met with 2 warnings, then we left.
Also a simple concept.

Parents who just let their children scream and run and be wild in public, obviously causing disruption and annoyance with everyone around them are NOT parenting at all.
To me, it says, 'I also ignore my child at home but in public I get to accuse others of being terrible for it.'

11:32 “okay” literally brought me to tears 😭 why even include the other little girl if she doesn’t get to keep the toy SHE opened??

the whimpered "...'kay..." by the roommate's kid just broke my heart. 🥺

17:05 if the child is small enough to be unbothered by a horror movie, the child is small enough that they ABSOLUTELY NEED HEARING PROTECTION IN THE CINEMA. That sound system will PHYSICALLY HURT an infant. Ffs.
