How wonderful that he was able to use his talent to show his father how much he loves him! Many of us never get that opportunity.

Wait till you hear his song "The girl who never was". Also a tear jerker too.

There are two subtle movements from James's Dad during this song that to me are very touching. When James sings about placing his hand on his Dad's arm ... his Dad subconsciously places his hand on James' arm AND he does the same thing at the end of the song. I know they are just gestures but to me it really conveys the caring James' Dad has for him

This song was about me and my mother. Almost word for word. The end of the first verse is where you get the meaning of the song and the tears are almost immediate when you realize he is addressing the worst situation you've ever imagined could happen, losing a parent. The fact that he so clearly explains how the role reversal works is what I love the most. It's something most people don't anticipate. I hope that the message here reaches everyone who hears it, that one day your parents may have to look to you for help. Treat them with compassion and love always.🙏

This was shot in one take because James said he didn’t think he could do it more than once, and when they wrapped it everyone was crying 😢. There was no way they could have done it again. Charles Blount looked around and said, “Why are you all crying? I’m not dead yet!” 🎉

I was able to tell him I would take care of my mom and I did, in essence, chase her monsters away for her for the rest of her life. sorry if I miss typed this, I seem to have something in my eye...

Many of James Blunt's songs will bring tears. The Girl That Never Was, No Bravery, Carry You Home, Goodbye My Lover, Dark Thought are all emotional.

After my dad fell at home while alone and hit his head, he was found and rushed to the hospital. He had a fatal, massive brain bleed. I got to the hospital and leaned over him telling him it was ok. I was there. That I didn't want him to go, but if he needed to, I'd be there, holding his hand. I kissed his forehead, my tears just flowed. Then, he opened his eyes. He couldn't move one of them. The other he locked on my eyes. I told the nurse in the room. She said it was impossible. But he did. And as I held him as best as I could to comfort him, tears ran down his cheeks.

Daddy died an hour or two later.. I was there by his side. His only biological child in the state, his last baby, his only daughter left (my little sister died when she was 22).

I wiped his tears with a tissue. It's in a bag in my jewelry box along with a lock of his hair. When they're gone, they're gone for a long, long time. Love them hard.
