We came face to face with Fernando Vicente, one of the most renowned and prestigious painter-illustrators on the national art scene. We've known him since his early days in the 1980s during the Movida Madrileña (publishing in magazines like Madriz) and his subsequent meteoric career as a leading illustrator for newspapers, magazines, books, fashion, posters, and as a painter of fascinating, beautiful, and unsettling works. In his work, we find aesthetic connections to the elegance of classic film posters, the pin-up tradition, nods to the history of European painting, and a sophisticated and playful pop touch. La Piscina Comics invites you to immerse yourselves in the creative universe of Fernando Vicente, who greets us surrounded by the original artwork that forms part of his exhibition at the Embassy of Comics.
