Check out these Yu-Gi-Oh! cards along with some decklists that showcase how to use them:  https://bit.ly/4lMyPa6

1 year later and theseus is actually a staple lmao

You showed him the misprint version of Sea Monster of Theseus, it's supposed to be a Tuner as well.
Also, some context was missing regarding that card (on top of the fact that Carl didn't quite seem to grasp fusion summoning). It was supposed to be the "perfect" Instant Fusion target, giving you a level 5 tuner for free.

the complete lack of mention of instant fusion when talking about Theseus drove me crazy

Sea monster of Theseus is a tuner monster itself (which wasn't on the card you showed). It's still a stinker, but not having that part of the card makes it harder to evaluate, especially without the context of instant and ready fusion.

Underworld goddess is uncounterable, non-targeting, non-destruction, non-tribute, removal.
You just yoink your opponents most annoying monster away and there is nothing that can stop you.

After that it is also a pretty good monster on its own.

Im coming from the future (2026.), give Carl a point for Theseus given that now almost every deck uses it because of Kewl tune

"Yugioh is not about being friends"
Correct! It is about sending your opponent to the shadow realm

"Why am I playing this game with you, Carl?"
Because he's Carl! It's even better when he pulls out his hats!

How funny it si that one year later kewl tune accualy make that trash fusion into a staple

What Konami probably intended with Theseus was for people to Instant Fusion it, then use it alongside the brilliant fusion engine to make Ultimaia Tzolkin and cheat a Crystal Wing or RDA Abyss to the field.
The problem with that was that it ended up being incredibly inconsistent. Sure, you could run the Predaplant engine to search for one of the fusion spells, but that required running an additional brick in the form of Cobra, and you still needed to hard draw the other for the combo to work! And that's ignoring the fact that Master Rule 4 would drop a few months later, making it pretty much useless.

The card was pretty fun to play in Madolche back in the day though. The deck lacked going first options and since Puddingcess was a level 5, you could easily summon Tzolkin.

Sea Monster of Theseus was supposed to be the best card you could summon off Instant Fusion,
As it is a level 5 tuner (not sure why the video has it as Non-Tuner)

Non-English original copies of Sea Monster of Theseus didn’t show it was a tuner, still a bad card but funny a misprint was used.

These feel  like 2008 videos in the best way possible

If Mr Douglas Zeef wasn't married, I'd say he'd have fallen in love hearing all this Fabled talk.

The fact that im watching that video and kewl tune exist made me think "holy new stapple" while watching the ship

Sea Monster of Theseus got a biiig glow up thanks to Kewl Tune

Watchig this today on the meta of kwel tune and seeing theseus as a stinkers made me laugh hard LMAO

Another domain format duel please this time with Carl

It's funny how Sea Monster of Theseus is now a staple Super Poly target against Kewl Tunes. XD
