Cardmarket Yu-Gi-Oh! is back at it again!

You asked for more Old School Yu-Gi-Oh! Duels, and we've got it! Join Taylor and Johnny in today's deckbuilding challenge as they go back to the playground to crack open Yu-Gi-Oh's second ever set, Metal Raiders! Building the best possible decks straight from these packs won't be easy, but it's sure to be a ton of old-school Yu-Gi-Oh! fun! Expect some laughably weak monsters, ridiculously strong staples, and of course… an old-school duel to settle it all! 👊

If you’re a fan of our chaotic deck builds, rule-bending challenges, and watching us try to out-duel each other with questionable strategies... you’re gonna love what’s coming next! 😄

Judge, Castle of Dark Illusions is not a zombie!

I love how they played the Castle of Dark Illusion properly, and when I say properly I am of course referring to making as many illegal plays and false statements as possible about the cards effect in hope that the opponent is not able to see past the "illusion" of the castle and instead stall and make incorrect decisions on how to remove it, like sending the dragon and reusing the sword with the eld to hit over it with the 20atk point difference.

Imagine cheating with Castle of Dark Illusion, and still losing in the end! Yugi would approve!

Johnny dealing the final blow with his topdecked childhood staple was narrative perfection.

Johnny drawing Big Eye just in time to re-arrange the top of his deck and use the Horn to prevent Summoned Skull from hitting the field and then ending the game with Doma, his childhood favorite is truly an anime worthy sequence 🙌

Old school Yu-Gi-Oh would be incomplete without tons of banter or ignoring rules, yeah!

18:17 True since Castle is not a Zombie (doesn't buff itself).

I WONDER WHAT IT COULD BEEEEEE!

I feel like the only reason I'm salty about the castle of dark illusions is cuz I went through that pain of realizing how it works xD

@NecromancerAdr 10 months ago

But... the castle is not a zombie....

This was the golden age.

I love that every time Johnny jokes about knowing the next card he draws you blend the effect of Big Eye back in lmao

The editing on this was SUPERB, and leaps and bounds above the baseline for this kind of series. Really felt like I was in the game with you guys. Great work.
