the 'michael jackson's nose falling off' cracks me tf up, expecially cus it makes me think of the one episode of southpark where his nose DOES fall off😭😭

I think people don't realize how impactful dumb scary stuff you see as a young kid actually is, and that when you grow up, you really want to see it again! You'd think people would want to forget something that scared them, but it's like, you want closure, to see that it was dumb and not scary, and to compare it to your memory. I thought I was the only one obsessed with media that scared me as a kid bc I'm into horror now, but it's definitely everyone! It results in that YT era where people who posted it or made it not realizing how significant it will be and just deleting it, thinking no one will care. We're kind of the first generation that knows that YTP is something worth preserving! Previous eras had scary books and movies and TV episodes, which are a lot easier to have been preserved since they were presumably published or on a tape somewhere, but now we have digital videos that are soooo easy to lose forever. PSA: no matter how embarrassing or insignificant you think your video is, take it down if you want but keep it somewhere!

Forgotten Youtube media will always be a topic I love just because it often is super personal.

One time my math teacher tried to play the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special, but accidentally played a YTP of him getting like hit by a car or something 😭

I remember the Michael Jackson one.
It was 2007-09 at a cyber cafe in Mexico. From what I remember it was some kind of comedy show skit

As soon as they mentioned Barbie Tries to Kill Bratz I got flashbacks to those old Robot Chicken sketches where every childhood toy franchise became a slasher movie 😭💀

Maybe for the Come Play With Me video, it was an error? Like maybe the wrong version of the video got uploaded and that's why it was deleted. Like, a wip of the video could just have one camera shot and corrupted audio (resulting in a garbled "mumbling" effect). Or maybe the entire file got corrupted and the channel owner only noticed after it was already uploaded.

Oh my goooosh those webkinz creepypastas used to scare the shit out of me!! 🤣🤣 great work as usual

MY lost media youtube video is an animal jam youtuber animatic with the lorde cover of everybody wants to rule the world. i SWEAR it had at least wisteriamoon & bepper in it, but not gellyjones, & there was a comment joking about gelly not being in it & ‘coming in late’ with a coffee & asking what was going on. it’s been YEARS & i swear it existed!

All my lost media interests in one video😌😌😌

29:41 "do you remember this traumatizing video" and it cuts to a home insurance ad 💀💀💀

1:55 thanks so much for covering my mystery! i can confirm that it wasn’t something made up by the fandom (if there even is an active cpwm fandom haha), but it definitely could have been a creepypasta!

It haunts me to know that there is literally Flurry Moon Lost Media out there that you have deleted. You became the thing you seek to destroy haha

My most prominent memory of old YouTube was watching the “Do You Like Waffles?” Sonic X AMV as a kid lol
(Also fun fact: the person who made that video was the host for the Sonic X reanimated collab)

PLEADING for YouTube to give us the old icon back

I remember as a kid I was OBSESSED with a Webkinz music video to the song Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne. It was edited to look like a scrapbook and it showed a Webkinz couple's entire life. I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever when I was like 8. 😭 Did anyone else ever watch this?

Michael vehemently denied having any work done, even shortly before his death. I think had he just been like "yeah" no one would have cared anywhere near as much. And he went through many iterations of nose, so those things together made it the constant talking point it became.

I remember watching a really ridiculous video around 2012 (although the video itself could have been older) that had a person acting out a gamecube giving birth to a wii. Like they were literally holding the consoles like toys and giving them voices. I think the gamecube was supposed to be in a hospital "going into labor" (although it was actually just the desk or floor in the uploader's room). A n64 was also there as the gamecube's mom. When the wii was born it was in the gamecube's disc slot and started going "wiiiii, wiiiii" like it was crying. I feel like an insane person typing this out lmao. The video was so stupid but it never left my memory for some reason. I think the person who uploaded it might have gotten too many mean comments or something, because I remember the uploader's description elaborating that it was just their style of humor and they knew it was dumb.

I have lost media from my childhood that I've been trying to find forever. I remember at school, when i was younger, I loved playing on the computers. Every time I went on, I would play this cute worm game. I remember the worms we're like hamsters and you could look after them and put them on the hamster wheel and I just remember how happy I felt when i played the game, the worms were so cute and I remember them looking a bit like the worm on a string toys. I think it was around 2010-2013 It was a VERY simple game made for younger kids. I've looked everywhere for it but all I've found so far is a reddit post someone else made saying they remember the same game. I really hope someone reads this and can help me find the game, i'd be so happy!

I swear I remember a video where Michael Jackson's nose falls off! Except it wasn't his entire nose. It was just the tip. I ended up looking up that video after a kid in my elementary school said MJ has had so many plastic surgeries that his nose keeps falling off 😂

That dug up a memory I can't believe I even have.
