My favorite piece of claw machine trivia is that the vocalist for Cannibal Corpse, George Fisher (or Corpsegrinder), ADORES them and is basically a claw machine enthusiast. He also donates all the plushies he wins.

Edit: SHE– SHE ADDED THE SILLY LAUGH... TWICE.. 🤯🤯🤯

You can sometimes see the claw loosen itself as it rises. Also I was at Alton Towers and noticed some of the winnie the pooh plushies were practically white showing how long they had been in there and how obviously impossible it was

Also, "And who says I wanna get rescued," is a wild thing for a kid in a claw machine to say.

Im really relieved people have gotten and are getting more educated about hamsters and other small pets, its always refreshing hearing somebody else as angry about the neglect as i am:( They really deserve the world

It never occurred to me that the opening on these machines was big enough for young kids to climb into... not sure if that's because I was a well-behaved kid, or because I was a chubby kid who would've gotten stuck. 💀

This makes me think of The Tomodachi Life Mii News story about the Mii Claw Machine where you could win Miis as prizes. I always liked that story, but I realized how unethical it would be in real life.

Hi fellow ball knowers

An actually good starter pet: a rock

At one of the restaurants I waitressed at we had a claw machine and every time the guy would come to fill it up I would walk away with whatever I wanted out the machine because he knew it was rigged and I’m sure I was the one putting most of the money in that machine 😂

30:39 as an orange cat owner, i can confirm that this is the sort of thing my cat would do. orange cats are dumb as hell but i love them.

also the segment about children getting stuck in claw machines had me in tears of laughter

For every hamster horror story, I also have a claw machine success story, like yeah my hamster had an inoperable tumour on his throat, needed to be euthanised mid-surgery, and when 8-year-old me opened the box to say a final goodbye, I found myself confronted with a horrifying open wound, but I also won 20 quid strapped to a Winnie the Pooh's head!

28:18 You tell them 👏 Oh my gosh the amount of times i see mistreatment of small animals because "they just need a bowl  or a box with a tiny wheel and tubes" drives me insane.

re: the hamster rant, PREACH, Flurry, PREACH.
Hammy didn't deserve to be eaten by our cat... it's hard for little kids to remember to keep the cage closed T_T

the groundhog trying to look nonchalant while squished between the stuffed animals so was funny. lil guy got a little confused but at least he had a comfy nap!

There's a Japanese style claw machine place at the mall near me called Kako Claw and surprisingly you actually get your money's worth there. You can get a basket of coins for like 20 bucks and come out with a whole bag of plushies, or you can trade them in for something bigger. While some of the prizes are off-brand for things like TADC and FNAF, you can actually get officially licensed Spongebob and Sanrio stuff most of the time, as well as other more generic things. I believe they have a few locations so I highly recommend if you're ever around the Ohio area!

39:53 I totally relate, I was obsessed with Spyro the dragon as a kid (wait, I still am lmao) and I wanted a plushie of him so bad but they seemingly just didn't exist back then. My tech-savvy uncle ended up ordering me one for Christmas, and I was so happy! I still have it on display in my room. I think I was around 9 or so at the time so around 2005 as well.

Slot machines also have some pretty interesting regulations + programming behind them to keep them profitable. Super neat that claw machines have a similar mechanism!

THE QUEEN POSTED!! >:D

I’m OBSESSED with claw machines! Thank you for making this! I’m intrigued lol

Last year I was in some quiet cramped cafe room alone studying which happens to have a claw machine with ting plushies. After about over a hour the machine suddenly played by itself and won a tiny rabbit plush for me for free! There hasn't been anyone else for hours in the room and the machine didn't have credits.
