Missed a huge plot point of the number of chibi-esque kissing games on games for girls to not get caught

hearing "girlsgogames" in 2026 sent a chill down my spine.

I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned and no one has mentioned this but, girls go games had a CHATROOM in the early 2010s. And yes, you could send images. It had a public chat and you could open DMs w someone that you friended. And since girls go games was marketed towards young girls, there was a lot of them in the chatroom…. Which meant there were a lot, if not more older guys in that chat room who ALSO took advantage of the ability to take and send pictures. Who would then have the girls take and send pictures back…. It was insane. It was a lot of young girls, including mine; first grooming experience 😭😭😭

Barbie is in your PC. Barbie is your walls. We have no idea what Barbie's true intentions are.

Girls games are what taught me the skills that allowed me go to college for computer engineering! ❤

i remember when all the girls games websites i loved, were suddenly flooded with those nauseating and headache inducing elsagate type surgery games. i thought “welp, guess i grew out of this stuff and it’s time to play real games”

Just saw an Ad on the App Store where a woman was made fun of and slapped because she wore the 'wrong' clothes. And her boyfriend, I guess, walked away with another woman after that.
So, nothing changed...

I dont like the Bratz doll thing becsuse I didnt see Bratz dolls or monster high dolls as sexual until my dad said it was sexual 🫩 I just saw them as cute clothes. I also never got insecure and thought I should look like the dolls until people tried pushing it on me. Ts was unrealistic in my mind and just cute, again. Yall gotta stop pushing things on your kids, this mentality is taught.

I hate the doll thing because no matter how short the skirt or “revealing” the shirt was on a doll I never thought of the clothes as “sexy”. As I child I just thought they were my cute/pretty doll.

Adults see so much in things that kids just never do.

I’ve rewatched a few of my childhood favorites (some Disney movies/tv shows, SpongeBob, Nickelodeon shows etc.) and caught SO MANY adult jokes that I NEVER picked up on as a child.

The adults who freak about about a kid having a bratz doll that wears fishnets or doesn’t let the watch SpongeBob because it’s inappropriate are weird.

Children are so pure minded and innocent and we don’t pick up on stuff like that unless it’s brought to our attention.

If you never tell your kid that their doll is “dressed slutty” they’ll never know!

it sounds like what girls wanted were story-driven RPGs, which is proven by the amount of teenage girls who love games like Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, and Final Fantasy.

Also as a girl born in the 90s: my favorite games were always the ones that let me play As a a girl. I liked Diablo and Super Mario 2 because i could actually Be a girl. I started playing MMOs and The Sims because you could play as women.

I liked equestrian games a lot as a young girl, too. I didn't mind dressup as part of the game, but the Barbie game that I became obsessed with was Barbie Horse Adventures. Virtual pet games in general were my jam.

maybe a hot take: parents are the ones buying games, so as a little girl I couldn't really play racing games/shooters or something about knights, as my mom didn't like me being a tomboy, all the marketing of toys is targeted to adults and asking a girl who was taught she was supposed to play with barbies, what she wanted out of a game solves nothing, but sitting her down and having her play a couple of different games would give better data

your description 8:20 is pretty fitting to what my girl friends liked in games growing up

I hate that every conversation about girly games is centered around protecting girls, from the stereotypes and the body image issues, not because these aren't problems but because the solution is always just to bash these games and shut them down instead of investing into the market to make more diverse and higher quality games. Girls who like girly things (and the few boys who also do) aren't more stupid or less discerning than other kids, they just don't have many alternatives that appeal to their interests, so they take what they can get, problematic aspects and all.

I gotta be going thru something. cried so hard for Brenda & Purple moon in the beginning. She was just a genuine woman, trying to make games loved by other little girls :(

That British dude was so snobby it was actually pissing me off. Of course girls and boys have differences, the thing is they are not FUNDAMENTALLY different. Gender essentialism is a hell of a drug

Great video, I never agreed with the people calling Bratz dolls sexual, fishnets are not inherently sexual neither are boas & the movies & show promoted friendship and diversity to girls and as someone who collected Bratz dolls as a child they really weren't as sleazily dressed as some thought and it certainly never made child me think "I should start dressing like them" a lot of the hate as well was just racism with people calling Bratz the "ghetto Barbie" & people hating on their "big lips" when lots of women of color just have fuller lips it's a natural feature and not something that should be sexualized

Imvu was never for kids. The debochery on that site is ridiculous

@xLadyRaine 1 month ago

As someone who was playing miss bimbo as a kid, sometimes i think people think kids are stupider than we actually are. I promise we’re making worse storyline with our actual dolls. the bigger issues is that the site was constantly hacked, once the login page was replace with an image of goatse
