This film was Jim Carrey's first serious role, as he had only acted in comedies before and had only become famous about 4 years prior. So at this time, Jim would have been well acquainted with the 'fame monster' and felt in many ways his own life reflected Truman's. Feeling like his whole life was being televised, like he had no privacy left, the paranoia of public scrutiny and everyone knowing who you are,  it was a deeply personal role.

Korean Mom is a pretty lady.   Much respect 🥰

Your parents seem so sweet your mom seems very energetic and excited it is kinda unusual to get your parents invested in your interests
Your dad seems so sweet too hes just sitting there a bit reserved but seems like hes having fun too
I hope you keep doing movies for the western audiences aswell you have a unique aspect

The new genre she discovered is the "dystopian" genre

It's interesting to see everyone compliment the aesthetics of the town/Truman! Both would have been considered very old-fashioned and anachronistic when the movie came out, which helped highlight how artificial Truman's entire world was.

It's actually very brilliant production design. Truman lives in a world made up of products people can buy and has basically been trained to live an idealized 1950s post-WWII lifestyle, seemingly to prey on his viewers' nostalgia. The only exception is the cars, those are all as modern as can be, because the show wouldn't be able to advertise vintage cars.

You know this movie is good because people still argue about whether Truman discovered he was in a TV show during the Film or if he knew from the start. If you rewatch the movie with the idea that he already knew his life was a lie, you see a lot of different details you wouldn't notice on a first watch! It makes it seem like every action Truman takes during the Film is a plan for his escape. Really interesting!

Your family is just so lovely to watch, you also are gaining foreigners subscribers...keep it up!

It's funny how they say who would watch this as we watch them react. People are weird man and I absolutely believe if this actually happened to someone it would be Hella popular.

You guys are great! What a fun reaction video. Cheers from America!

People in countries like United States and Latinamerica are used to hug and caress the people they care about, including friends. That's a bit of culture shock for you guys. It's nice to notice how different and diverse we are

Peter Weir’s first highly successful film, Picnic at Hanging Rock, is very much worth watching too. Based on a true story, a Victorian Australian girls prep school class goes to Hanging Rock for a picnic and some of them disappear, literally vanish. The investigation and mystery that ensues is one of the best films of all time and prob the best Australian film.

A great reaction to a great film.
23:56 “It looked like a BTS concert”. It really did! 💜

Have you seen the documentary The Contestant? It’s a real life Truman Show dystopian story about a man on a Japanese reality show decades back, Nasubi. Very intense and shocking

I think yall need to watch It’s a Wonderful Life :)
