This film had a very dramatic impact on the life of Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan). He's spent much of his life since doing charitable services for US veterans. He's an incredibly good man.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. I feel sorry for Jenny. She told Forest to run, because that is what she did from her Father's abuse and sexual advances. She runs the entire movie until she can't. Both run for different reasons. God bless you all.

My favorite movie trivia comes near the end of the movie. Forrest becomes terrible at Ping-Pong because his son is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen... so he takes his eyes off the ball.

As an American I think it's important to acknowledge South Korea sent the most troops of any other country besides the USA to the Vietnam war. That war was very complicated and a lot more nations were involved than the average person today realizes.

It was the 70s no cell phones, and Forrest ran for over 3yrs without letting anybody know where he was. Jenny could have called Forrest house phone to let him know but he wasn't there. She wrote the letter after finding out she was sick.

Never occured to me that Forrest Gump was a modern american Fairy Tale. It really is, there' just enough magic and morality in it. It treats earnestness like it's miraculous.
