Most people cry when she sings. For me, it was asking her daughter what's wrong. That broke me.

Your mother is having the time of her life! 😂 She’s very animated haha

Your mom making the point that Miguel looks so much like Hector made me realize that was the reason mama Coco was staring at him for so long before she brought out the picture. I've seen this dozens of times and never noticed that detail, good catch!

25:28 "Family is precious in both life and death."

Your father didn't say much the whole movie, but this one line sums it all up beautifully.

idk why but your father being so in tune with the spiritual side of this movie is kinda endearing. Like he gets it immediately and you can tell, he is deeply saddened by the idea of not respecting your past and family and it is so sweet.

My mom loves this movie. My mom has dementia and hearing her sing the song "Remember Me" without the movie playing makes me so happy.

Coco has so many references to Mexican culture, especially Día de Muertos. Miguel’s dog is a Xoloitzcuintle, a breed from pre-Hispanic times. The Aztecs believed these dogs guided the dead to the afterlife, which is why he can see Miguel as a spirit. Pepita is an alebrije, too. Alebrijes are traditional Mexican handmade figures of imaginary creatures. I’m really glad your mom enjoyed the movie so much! She made me smile more than once, and I hope you can watch Encanto together too, since it explores Colombian culture.

I'm just like your sister, even after the movie ended I was still sobbing 😂

Saw this movie when I was 8. Even a decade later, on my 4th rewatch, Coco’s passing always gets me 😢

As someone who celebrates every year, we genuinely believe that that world exists, and every year our ancestors follow the flower petals into our home to celebrate with us.

I'm not Mexican, I'm Puerto Rican, but I can say that the scene with baby Coco and Hector leaves me sobbing every time. My dad was a musician (he played guitar), and he always sang to me and my siblings in that same way. He passed away 12 years ago, and the loss still hurts. I'm sure he's still playing his guitar in the afterlife.

Your mother is so cute and happy! If you want to adopt a Mexican-American child, i volunteer! (I’m not a child but still  😆)
I like the way you guys pronounced the Spanish names and enjoyed the music so much 😊

I cry every time I watch when he sings to her.

17:09 the noise Miguel makes is called a grito. gritos are like, a passionate call of emotions, usually gritos are accompanied by music, or maybe you feel the need to celebrate or express intense feelings, that's a grito

I am Mexican American and Coco is a beautiful representation of the culture I come from.  I have also come to love K Dramas and have seen almost 100 shows.  To see Korean people enjoying and appreciating my culture like I enjoy and appreciate theirs is so touching.  Calling her Coco Halmeoni made me so emotional.

it is said that when you pass away, you have to cross several worlds to get to the "final resting place" . This is where alebrijes come in because it is said that they represent the animals you met when you were alive. if you treated the animals well, they would help you cross a river otherwise your soul would be stuck.

At the beginning of the movie hector isn’t wearing shoes because he is not accepted by his family. Now that he is accepted again he can wear shoes ❤️

This movie represents our Día de los Muertos very well, We do believe that our relatives come to visit us that day. A fun fact that people don´t see in the movie: Hector is barefoot all the movie but in the end, he has shoes!! The Rivera family made shoes for him, integrating him into the family again. This movie is BEAUTIFULLY MADE, but the best part is the message...     FAMILY FIRST!!

I saw this film a couple years after my grandmother passed, and she looked EXACTLY like Coco. I couldn’t stop crying for the next 3 days 😭🫶🏽
