I don't understand why my Hungarian revolution video was hijacked by a conversation about the T-72.

In Sweden we have this music artist named Ulf Lundell. Ulf was fond of the drink to the point that it had an effect on the music so at a point he stopped drinking. This was very much noticeable in his live performances, so much that people showed up to his concerts with signs saying "start drinking again Ulf". After having seen this video and knowing it was done sober all i can say is: Stay sober, this was awesome.

I want to point out here, that the Abrams was specifically designed FOR the Fulda gap scenario, and was designed to trade at an exchange rate so high with the T-72 that it would be cost effective even with its higher price tag. I think the Abrams proved it's point quite well during the 91 Gulf War.

As an anecdote, I know a guy who was a soviet T-72 commander during the fall of the Union, and he said that the Abrams performance during '91 sent absolute shock waves through his unit. He has said that the Lion of Babylon tanks (theocally produced Iraqi versions of the T-72) weren't frankly that different from the issued T-72 he commanded, and that most of the changes came down to lack of night vision and a less effective gun stabilizer. As he pointed out to me, neither of those changes would have actually helped the Republican Guard as their tanks were dug in, hull down, in a reverse slope position. This is, according to him, the best possible engagement position according to soviet doctrine for a defensive engagement.
