the fact that homeboy is still alive, AND gave you permission to make a video about him, say's alot about how well your videos are when it comes to telling someone's story.

@iVETAnsolini 5 days ago

The fact he made you put in the video that he wasn’t the only naked guy on the boat because of the diesel soaked uniforms is hilarious

Long time subbers know, bad eyesight isn't a disqualifier for legendary snipers, it's a prerequisite.

My dad got caught stealing beer while in Viet-nam. When some O2 tried to reprimand him for it, his exact words were... "What are you gonna do, send me to Nam?" 😅

Buy the book. Self-published means he gets it all. Let’s get this man his flowers while he’s with us. If you have an audible credit this month, use it.

Oh my god, making sure that we the audience knows "hey, we were ALL naked" is the most hilarious edit on someone's own life story I've ever heard

The most realistic part of this whole story are the doctors not realizing Ed had broken vertabrae. What an absolute badass

I enlisted in 1997 as a combat medic. My first duty station was a TMC where the Medical Officer used to be a Special Forces medic in Vietnam. Whenever I was about to do an IV he would come to the room and turn off the lights. He would tell me that as a combat medic that it was expected of me to do an IV in the dark. In hindsight it was great training, but it sucked for the patient. Imagine witnessing this speech and you are on the other side of the needle. 😬

I love that Ed specifies that he wasn't the only naked one.

You know you have hit ultimate badass status when you’re still alive and the chubby electron guy breaks his own rule to make a 90 minute video about you.

So glad you got to meet Ed and get permission to make this. He deserves it. Now, time to get him that Medal of Honor.

This is the only channel that gets me to watch videos as they drop. I don’t even care what you’re teachin fam, I’m ready to hear it.

Guy carried the war so hard it broke his back, but he carried so hard it couldn't keep him down.

@Raansu 4 days ago

Absolutely criminal that he didn't get the medal of honor.

My brother was a crew chief on a Huey in Vietnam. He never has said a word about it other than if another vet would ask him what he did there it’d just be “I was a crew chief on Huey” and that’s it. He’s 18 years older than I am so one of my first memories is him coming home through the back door at home. I also remember waking up to him screaming in the night and dad, a WWII vet, going in with him and mom telling me he was having a bad dream. I feel for all the vets who came home but left a large part of themselves where they lost brothers in arms.

I really appreciate the early accounts of all Ed's failures. A lot of the other stories sound like the guy is playing Call of Duty. Just victory after victory (admirable, of course, however...)
Eaton here was just stumbling his way through his first few weeks, surviving by the skin of his teeth and luck. His story is so much more inspiring because of all the failures and setbacks.
