I appreciate the way you recognize the villans hardships without erasing or forgiving their crimes

I feel like this is rooted in misogyny. Already Kanna being called a seductress bitch rang my alarms but the fact that the two princes get let off the hook rlly proved it

I am so thankful for you covering this disgusting webtoon. Because like why are we villainizing a literal SA victim and let the r*pist run free without letting him go to jail

Its crazy that not more people is hating on the father, just seeing him getting possessive over Kanna a teenager while he has a wife and a daughter just pisses me of

Seeing Kannas final words be "I wanted to be happy too"

Makes me so sad

'Toxic webtoon commenters vs not calling women derogatory terms for women" challenge: IMPOSSIBLE

Seeing how similar Argos and kana were in certain ways (mental health struggles, homicidal tendencies) yet Argos getting sympathy and Kana being hated FOR BEING A VICTIM mind you, just shows how misogynistic manwha readers and manwhas themselves can get

I hated this story so much (still finished it though 💀) because the FL wasn't a good person in her first life. She did terrible things and still blamed everyone else for her misfortune. Yes, Kana was not a good person either. But she was so clearly a victim, especially when it came to the Father situation... So it was so gross seeing this young girl depicted as the spawn of Satan for being dealt bad cards in life and taken advantage of by adults, even if she used it for her own gain

It's interesting how much a community will support the main characters just because they're the main character. The MC can do the same evil thing as a villain in another story and they will still support them.

Blaming a woman better than blaming a man in the same situation ahhhh manhwa

hm... a female character taken advantage of by a man with immense power over her who is hated by readers because she isn't a 'perfect victim' and gets endlessly punished by the narrative while the male abuser gets way less hate and punishment... where have i seen that before...........

(im talking abt the remarried empress here but i am SUUUUURE this happens in other webtoons as well)

Moral of the story: we can’t escape misogyny.

“This webtoon villainized mental health” This is oddly enough on the lower end of the spectrum of things I have seen in webtoons

Not the first time the victim is treated more harshly than the perpetrator. Also, if webtoons and history have taught me anything, it's never get romantically involved with a prince!!!

Imagine if Manwha authors knew how to draw people to fit their actual ages, and Kana was drawn as a middle schooler instead of the adult they were clearly depicting (notice she's the same height as all the adult women and depicted the same way women aged 16 to 25 always are in manwha). I wonder if the commenters would have been just as vitriolic.

It's the Rashta situation all over again

Kanna is just Rashta all over again. A young girl who was suffering due to her circumstances, is brought into a better way of living and does whatever she can do to try and keep this life and safety. But rather than seeing her as a complex character who is also somewhat a victim, the readers look at them as a truly evil villain who uses their womanly and devilish charms to manipulate and try to kill our female lead. If you want a story with that with a villainess like that then read "Not your typical reincarnation story" it's great, amazing, and has a both an amazing villainess and heroine.

the misogyny in romance manhuas/webtoons is so tiring like arent these stories meant to be for women???

Wait is this the one where the "villainess" was a 13 year old "seductress" in the og book? I already lowkey hate the protagonist not gonna lie i HATE when protagonists pull the same shit as the antagonist but they get away with it because their gods special baby

Okay... But have you considered that Kanna is a POOR?!?

(For legal reasons this is a joke)
