She said she did 8 layers with these vocals… all hers, she’s just unique

the speed of this song scratches my brain. it's satisfying.

That’s her Grandma saying ’your husband is coming’ right at the end. Cute, eh!

Raye was far and away the best thing on last years' Grammy's. This past Friday, she was a guest on The Today Show. Spectacular! Love the brass and the whole 60's vibe.

Raye is a breath of fresh air in the industry. She's not only incredibly talented and stunningly beautiful, but she LOVES making music. She's one of the few artists out there you can FEEL actually enjoy the craft and have fun with it.

This piece strikes me as an excellent example of how Jazz based sound design has been making a strong push into popular music of late. There are elements in here that pull so strongly from Jazz, the 1950's Doo-Wop harmony style and the big band inclusion of Brass into the mix.

Her rapid pace singing style is so tight that she is pulling on some modern rap elements there.

She and her production team have created a very modern mix of this stew of elements. Very enjoyable.

If this song doesn't win a grammy, I quit life. Its supurb on so many levels.

It is a patter song, like in an operetta, in a way. She did a very, very quick look at how she laid the vocal tracks for this. It's posted on youtube. What an incredible artist

Congratulations for your marriage ☘️

This is how I know youre an actual vocal coach/expert, unlike so many creators on Youtube. You instantly recognized that the song's lead vocals were panned to the left/right, but never in the center, That is exactly what Raye said she did! She said the entire song is either panned to the left, right, or both. She doesn't have any center lead vocals at all. Instant subscribe dude.

RAYE got bored of being used to write for others and decided to single-handedly bring real music back to the world. She deserves everything that is coming to her, she is absolutely incredible. I got to see a bit of her set at the F1 at Silverstone this year (I was working so ran down on my dinner break) and she is such a natural talent. She's going to be on top of the world before long and I can't wait. (From, a Metalhead with a softspot for big band music)

RAYE actually recently had a cameo in Black Rabbit where she sings “What a difference a day makes”, it’s brilliant as you can imagine!

She is a generational talent.

I really liked this song, I know it was complex, but as a non musician who is just obsessed with audio I didn't know how to break it down in words. Thank you for your expertese and explaining it layman terms.

What I love about this from a storytelling perspective is how the lyrics and the fast pace further emphasise the hurry, the speed, the anticipation, and excitement to find a husband.

At the end, particularly showcased in the video, when she realises, 'no, you need to focus on yourself first and when you do that love will come', she's chasing down the corridor but breaks through the man instead of grabbing him. She shows us that she's searching for something new - herself - and then her real self is finally revealed to us from the box - 'MAY contain Raye' - and from then on her performance is chaotic, fun, and bubbly showcasing her self-love and, I think, the audience embracing that.

Music industry: "Raye, again, you can't mix like 6 different styles into a single song."
Raye: * does it again. *

Ray is kinda artist that AI cannot dare to touch her in a million years. Music so layered, so deep, she is the kinda artist that happens to the music industry once in few decades. This May, she is gonna be in Houston, and I can't wait to see her live.

She needs to sing a song for a James Bond movie!!!!

Raye is a great rapper and singer, her medley of genres is what makes her music feel so full and rich to listen to

She's our new Amy Winehouse we all need to love and support  her. She's really down to Earth and we all love her here. This song is my favourite from her so far I hope America loves it. Thanks for sharing it. Love Lynne from England xx
