She paid for this entire performance.. venue, the symphony, choir… everything ON HER OWN

@thomasscottwilliams6672 3 months ago

Tom the conductor & RAYE spent 8 months changing her studio lp into a symphonic orchestration, a few months in they announced the 1 night only at the RAH, 5300 sold out immediately and this is it. A beautiful stunning revelation that reaffirms art and live performance.

This was one of the best reactions on YT. And I've seen loads of them! Your enthousiasm was radiating from my screen!!😊😊😊

Now for Raye:

she already knew as a child she wanted to be an artist; at 17 years old she signed a contract with a major label. They promissed her she could do 4 albums of her own. None of them were ever released, because they refused her to bring out her own album. In the meantime she was writing songs for A-listers like Beyonce, CharliXCX, John Legend, Zara Larson, Madison Bear and many more and doing cooperations with famous dj's and rappers. This struggle with her recordcompany was partly if not a big part the reason for her depressions and ( heavy ) use of narcotics! In 2021 the recordcompany let her go and she became an independent artist. Raye is totally clean now!

She first released two singles of which Escapism was a big hit. Than she released in 2023 her debut album My 21-st Century Blues. Next was the album My 21-st Century Symphony: the symphonic version of My 21-st Century Blues. As said Oscar Winning Tears is the opening song of this album. After that the single Where the hell is my Husband was one of her releases; Click Clack Symphony the last one. In March 2026 she released her sophomore album This Music May Contain Hope featuring for instance Nightingale Lane and I Know It's Hurting ( best Live at The Abbey Road Studios. )

Raye has loads of awards as a songwriter: last one Hal David Starlight Award of the songwriters Hall of Fame; has 4 Grammy nominations; 7 Brits Awards ( the British version of the Grammys ): 6 of them were awarded to her in one night; no artist ( not even the great Amy Whinehouse RIP ) was awarded so many Brits in one night. Many more awards as a songwriter and singer.

At her acceptance-speech of the Indie Spirit Award she reminded artists to " DREAM AUDACIOUSLY" and not to let you stop by recordlabels.

Please correct me, if I am wrong! 😊😊😊

Enjoy your trip along the Raye-rabbithole 😊😊😊

Finally someone reacting like I actually reacted. This girl gets it and she’s not even being dramatic. I too am obsessed with Raye.

I know your hurting and Nightingale Lane at Abbey road studios, choir and orchestra - amazing

This is the kind of stuff that makes me proud of my country. 😭🇬🇧🔥🔥🔥

I also have the same obsession with Raye. I can't stop watching reaction videos on YouTube to witness others discovering her greatness. I agree she has to sweep the Grammys! This music may contain hope is a masterpiece!!!!❤

Raye was completely off my radar until her new album "This Music May Contain Hope" now she is my favorite EVER. Vocals and instruments phenomenal. you could spend FOREVER dissecting that album

@mrradiohead2308 3 months ago

The fact that you know it is RAYE because of her live performances are even better than its studio version.

@KaranJangra-l5t 3 months ago

RAYE is my favourite music Genre

I’m so lucky to have witnessed her in live ❤❤❤❤ she is whole music. She is THE MUSIC

@WoodlandT 3 months ago

Yes dear Maggie, we agree! I have literally been saying the words that she is the rebirth of hope for music since this album came out. Welcome to the New World, where music is good again

@domrodgers70 3 months ago

You definitely need to watch, I know you're hurting - live at Abbey road.

@lucyb1076 3 months ago (edited)

She is the best, better than anyone. Why is she not in the Billboards top every week

@grahamhowes6904 3 months ago

She re-arranges orchestrations often … writes extraordinarily sharp lyrics … the music really clever and catchy plus she sings like an angel! Apparently cross trained vocally between a belt teacher opera and musical theatre teachers. You have a lot of material to enjoy. But this Royal Albert Hall was a big gamble that really paid off. Booking one of the BBC Orchestra s and selling the rights to broadcast back to them was smart. On the album it’s the LSO - John Williams’ favourite orchestra! How Polydor could hold her back and use her as a session singer and composer for Beyoncé and others without releasing her own material is beyond disgusting. Her core team is now small and largely family members - who can blame her? I applaud her guts and talent.

Take a look at her recent performance at the BET Awards. standing ovation from everyone

@Barni_g2201 1 day ago

She is one of of a kind

Old Scottish dude here. 57 years of conditioning and dna stopped me from reacting exactly as you did but I’m fairly sure that was what was going on inside me somewhere. You’re lovely. Best reaction I’ve ever seen.

Unbelievable breath control on that sustained part. And she made it look effortless. I think she's scheduled for Sep 12th and 13th in Tampa, and 19th and 20th in Miami (Bruno Mars - The Romantic Tour)
