14:53 i never noticed he had 2 tethers, but at 14:58 there's only one tether shadow

Lord and Miller are also responsible for the underrated sitcom Last Man On Earth...unless my alz kicked in early.

I love that Stratt is a woman and given humanity. It allows for just the tiniest hint of a blossoming romance, or at least a crush by Ryland. Which, like 99% of initial sparks, is crushed by reality and circumstances. It's so subtle, but so real. One more tragedy in the story.

I love this channel so much and this is one of my favorite movies.❤

Just watched your reanimator reaction. Is society on the list. I need emily to see the shunting

Did you ever do Forbidden Planet was looking for it , did search and it didn't pop up. Also MST3K , your thoughts, on series and movie?

“I tap you, you tap me.” Subtle.

The voice actor for Rocky is also his lead puppeteer, James Ortiz. He voiced the alien character and operated the puppet on set alongside a team of additional puppeteers. The intension was to replace Ortiz's voice in postproduction, but they couldn't find a better delivery, so they left it as is.

Do a YouTube search for "Neil deGrasse Tyson Confronts Andy Weir on the Science of Project Hail Mary".
Tyson interviews Weir on the book, and it's really interesting.
Weir says when he was writing The Martian, he did it imagining Tyson on his shoulder watching and ready to take Weir to task on the science, so he had to get it right. Same with Hail Mary. And there are some discussions on how Weir made some of his choices.

I really love science based logic problems, which is what alien environments and lifeforms are at their heart.
And I really love how you put this reaction together. Thank you!

49:35 he is not a “voice actor”. He was one of the puppeteers, saying the lines, believing someone else would do the voice over. But during editing, they loved him so much that put him to do it.

I was really pissed off when it was revealed that he was forced to go. I viewed the flashbacks as his memory slowly coming back, but maybe that wasn't the case. If he ever gets back to earth, I need an apology of some sort, because wtf

The book is really terrific, the movie is next level, but for my money's worth I believe the audio book is the best version of this story.

It is beautiful question.

One point few reactors mention is that Grace in going after Rocky was choosing to die. He only had 4+ years of food left, which would be used to get to Erid. He had zero expectations that the Eridians could keep him alive. In the book, it was repeatedly mentioned that there was nothing on Erid that he could eat, not even the living creatures in their atmosphere (an atmosphere so dense that no light could get to the surface). Also the planet's surface is ammonia, 400F, and the gravity is twice that of Earth.

Ryan Gosling = Ryland Grace
hashtag Initials Are Fun

In this story, Grace is the only human in history to have personally laid eyes on another world around another star. It was quite a moment indeed.

Fun Fact: The "scary voice" was voiced by the narrator of the audiobook.

Since y'all like science-based audiobooks and pop culture sci-fi. I would recommend "We Are Legion" by Dennis E Taylor.  The same narrator who read Hail Mary reads these also.

Top reaction to one of the greatest movies ever! SO emotional, the best performances and a HOPEFUL film where aliens are SO much better than humans in every way and Grace is one out of the box (of superior t-shirts).

Andy Weir send the book to Gosling before publishing and Gosling decided to make it a movie and he brought tge rest of the crew

I know it's a headcannon but I like to the the Mark that got with Ryland's ex was Watney

Have you watched Dust Bunny?
