Today I’m reacting to Blackadder’s BEST insults by nationality, and I’m quickly learning that nobody was safe from Edmund Blackadder.
The British. The French. The Germans. The Americans. Basically, if your country exists, there’s probably a Blackadder insult waiting for you. 😭
And honestly, this is one of my favorite things about classic British comedy — the insults are so ridiculously specific and cleverly written that sometimes it takes me a second to realize just how SAVAGE they actually are.
As an American, I am fully prepared to accept whatever is coming our way. 😂🇺🇸

I’d say the second is my favourite, followed by the fourth, then the first, then the third. The specials are also well worth a watch.
The Royal Navy - at the beginning of the 20th century - didnt really fire their guns (for practice) very much, because they would have to CLEAN THE SHIP (gunpowder smoke) in case of someone important coming aboard while they are in a harbor.
