"Allo Allo" was actually a pastiche of a serious drama called "Secret Army"

It's a wonderfully silly and complicated series. The plight of Rene trapped between the Colonel, Herr Flick, the Resistance, Herr Gruber, miss mistresses, his wife and his wife's mother is hilarious. The fallen Madonna and the Rritish Airmen are a constant theme and as it goes on new characters appear to complicate things further including an Italian officer and an British undercover agent who thinks he can speak French. It reminds you of Fawlty Towers because they are both farces. It's a comedy style full of rediculous coincidences and misunderstandings performed at a furious pace.

I adored this when it came out. Probably one of the reasons I became a historian. I loved that they made everyone look equally stupid. No one escaped looking remotely sensible.

I heard that in Germany 🇩🇪 this really went down well. They loved it. As we in Britain 🇬🇧 still do.❤

"Uh oh! Edith is going to sing!"
"Quickly, Hans! The cheese!"

The whole introduction of Lieutenant Gruber is one of the best scenes in history. It's hilarious from start to finish.

Wait until officer Crabtree shows up

Dad's army is another British classic comedy about WW2

Classic old school British farce. Still as brilliant as ever.

"Allo, Allo" is hysterical for anyone who is familiar with the French Resistance during WW2. This show stumbled on the perfect way to explain the issues of different languages while we understand every word. It is clever, 'stupid' and chaotic. One of the best comedies. I still laugh every time I see it.

British comedy is so good because it's so silly, I mean that in a good way. When done well, British comedy is the best in the world. This is just another UK TV Sitcom show that is just A+

So many catchphrases from this show

This series has to be one of the funniest series in history. I have the whole DVD set and I always nearly bust a gut when I watch it again.

"Ze flashing knobs!" LOL

My favourite sitcom. Used to watch with my parents growing up which was a touch awkward at times when the saucy bits came on. It starts of as a good series but later on it becomes amazing as the actors become more familiar with their roles. Since i don't do patreon i won't be watching it with you but i hope you enjoy this awesome series  as much as I did.

‘Allo ‘Allo is still one of the funniest TV shows ever.

Allo Allo guys
