Will MLP G6 fail? There are a lot of concerns surrounding the new generation, from re-using FIM characters, to Apple Jack and Rarity missing, to a theme song that is... less than pleasant.

We will discuss all the info around My Little Pony G6 today!

If Hasbro wants to keep MLP alive, they should use the older more forgetten characters from previous generations. Give them more depth and character.

Fun fact: this video is longer than 2 G6 episodes

It’s like they looked at G5’s failure, learned all the wrong lessons, and decided to replicate it without the one thing that anyone liked about G5 (original characters).

the g6 intro sounds like the starlight equalization indoctornation

The theme song kinda sounds like they have no idea what the show is gonna be about

They're not trying to recreate FIM. They're trying to catch the last drops of G4 from bronies who have not 100% given up.

I’m holding off on judgement of the theme song until we see the actual opening animation. It’s possible “Believeing comes from your imagination” could possibly tie into this new show. We don’t have context for it yet. If it does end up being empty flowery stuff, then yeah we roast it to Tartarus and back.

they just need to hire you as a writer at this point.

Oh DAMN. "Close your eyes and ignore reality" is the EXCACT OPPOSITE of what we need in our modern society. It's counterintuitive. It's looking at a storm and just sitting in the grass imagining sunshine and rainbows. As a stoic, we look at the storm with wide open eyes, ask ourselves what we can and can't do, then take action, build shelter, do what we can control instead of loathing what we can't.

Cheap modern self-help is what asks us to drown in that downpour, and if that's the messaging of this new show... I'm just gonna rewatch G4 TwT

Just adding onto what you said about the cutie marks:
If a pony gets a cutie mark they don’t feel aligns with them, that’s a whole dang character arc where they can come to terms with it. Like if Rarity got the same precious stone cutie marks and she retained her more high society personality she’ll have to come to terms with having to actually dig out the gems from the dirt without the use of equipment or a character specializing in digging/mining.

Another thing to add: the videos will most likely be made for kids. This means that viewers won't be able to comment to support the video and algorithm, ads will automatically be shown less significantly hurting revenue, and viewers won't be able to save it to playlists or use it in mini player mode, those last two aren't as important though.

I wouldn't be against unicorns still being capable of doing "literally anything," with the caveat that it would be hard to do or require multiple highly trained unicorns.

If they don’t bring back Derpy, we riot

About the length being 9 minutes, if the show can use the same technique as Bluey, then we’re good. Bluey is around 7 minutes, and they managed to have these deep moments with characters, even developing them in other episodes. They had “adult humor” while still being “a kid show.” Bluey was such a well-done show. Somehow, even the 1–3 minute Minisodes were funny, so maybe this show has potential.

Ohh wait… these were the creators of G5? Maybe not then. 😑
