When they go into the movie, they start turning into the movie. They come out of the water with perfect hair and immaculate outfits whenever needed. The dance number at the end is to show that they brought some of the musical movie world back with them, the rift between worlds didn’t close, which is also why the movie characters come out of the water in the post credit scene.
Also it’s a Disney channel movie. Let’s not think too hard about it
Ross Lynch is really great at dancing! It does get overlooked! He does a number in Austin and Ally with Maddie Ziegler and he completely keeps up, like on the same level.
I’ve never watched Zeke and Luther, probs never going to at this point in my life, but I sit on the edge of my seat in anticipation of every Mr. Nostalgia video for the Z&L reference
I think another reason why this movie was such a big event is because it was the ONLY DCom released in 2013. That may be why the production quality is so high on Teen Beach Movie. Disney must have put all of their resources into this movie.
BTW Jordan Fisher is also now on broadway in hadestown playing the lead and before that dear evan hadson. So he is doing fine with his acting. Garret Calyton is also doing well for himself . So both of them are doing very well .
Might be a hot take, but Teen Beach Movie’s soundtrack got a case for one of the best in DC history. Movie wise, I don’t think the Grease-like setting worked well at that time period for me but overall one of the better post-2010 DCOMs.
Okay, for all of its problem this movie had, the songs and the choreography which is the biggest highlight of these Disney Channel movie musicals are seriously some of the best I've seen. I love how Brady fits both the Surfers and Bikers perfectly
Teen Beach will never live up to what High School Musical did, but I think it's a really close second, when viewing the first movie on its own merits. It was well written for a DCOM, the cast seemed to really enjoy what they were doing, and the music numbers are some of my favorite in Disney Channel history. Overall, I think it really earned that cult following.
Okay so the last number, musicals have this quality where not all musical numbers are actually happening, they're just a representation of what's going on in the character's minds, and I understand the confusion given that the movie mostly plays out in a meta way where they're actually doing the songs and numbers, but that last scene isn't supposed to be read as an actual number, it's more of a representation of Mack's new found freedom
