Back in the day when actors became stars because of their actual talent, not social media or ad campaigns.

Greatest movie EVER.  Hollywood is incapable of making movies like this now.

I saw this movie as a kid on a massive big screen in a theater. It has stuck with me ever since. It is truly a masterpiece. It's a movie that Hollywood has forgotten how to make.

This movie begins at the first Christmas, and ends at the First Easter

The chariot race segment is the greatest action sequence ever filmed in the history of cinema.

Every time Jesus appears, especially the first time when he have Ben Hur water, is a tear jerking moment.

Remember again this is no CGI This is no trick photography This is all REAL!

Ben-Hur is one the greatest movies ever made!

Wikipedia for the word Epic should just have a link to this movie.  The actor that played Jesus just died a few years ago.  They did a great job of presenting him in this movie, especially with not showing his face.  This is why practical effects movies just last.  You REALLY appreciate the hard work they put in.

The miracle movie, the best movie of all time

Can we acknowledge how F'N good Stephen Boyd is? Pure piece of stuff in this movie.

Charlton Heston doesn't get enough credit for being one of the greats.  He won the best actor Oscar for this role.  He was also in The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Story Ever Told.  He may be best known for Planet of the Apes, which, imo, was an Oscar worthy performance, but sci-fi wasn't really recognized by the Academy until Star Wars...although 2001:  A Space Odyssey was very well received by critics.  I loved him in The Omega Man and Soylent Green as well.  The man was an A lister without a doubt.

CHARLTON HESTON, my all-time favorite actor!
^_^

One of the best films ever made. People cite the chariot race like it's the only part worth seeing, but the story arc of Judah (downfall, survival, vengeance and forgiveness) is what truly makes the film.

역사상 최고의 영화

This is one movie I watch every year for the last 50+ years

When my kids complained about doing chores I would tell them "Row well and live".  They hated that because they knew the movie.

That chariot race, which is 100% real, on a huge outdoor set, is amazing to this day.

Got to meet Charlton Heston at the cinerama dome in Hollywood for the premier of the restoration and re-release of this movie. Was amazing watching this with him sitting two rows behind me. He was an incredible presence. Thanks for playing this, truly one of the greatest movies ever made
