You found Ren Hayabusa relaxing? 😲 What are you on? I always found him to be annoyingly tedious as he just doesn't stop attacking.

It's easy to miss cos you might think it's caused by the tornadoes, but the Nightmare Bringer tornado burst attack's pulse does actually cause Confusion on hit.

Since I've been playing this lately, right now I feel like I'd rank them in this order from worst to best (based on Depths of the Underworld variants):
18. Giant Toad
17. Taira no Kagekiyo
16. Kukai
15. Ashiya Doman
14. Uminyudo
13. Nightmare Bringer
12, Tsuchigumo
11. Nue
10. Ren Hayabusa (thrilling, but also a bit simple in terms of approach. That intense pace does make it stand out)
8 tied. White Tiger - Ancient Nyotengu (not sure which since I like them for different reasons)
7. Lightning Gods of Yomi
6. Minamoto no Yorimitsu
5. Benkei
4. Tate Eboshi
3. Otakemaru (The First Samurai)
2. Shuten Doji (DLC)
1. Minamoto no Yoshitsune

White Tiger is easily my worst boss.  It's not that I don't like fighting him, but narratively it makes zero sense for him to show up here. His whole being is your cat spirit guardian in Nioh 1 sacrifices himself to save William, which results in him becoming this and William has to kill him. There should be zero chance of a rematch, period.

Fun fact: Tsuchigumo was also a referrence  to Ninja Gaiden 2, for a much less arachnid boss with a simialr body type.

I knew Ryomen Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, if I remember correctly before ever playing Nioh. And thanks to Nioh, I learned that Sukuna actually is a mythological figure from Japan, not just a character created for Jujutsu Kaisen specifically (like other curses, for example Mahito or Jogo). Surprised me quite a bit when I went into Sukuna's arena for the first time in Nioh and saw the name of the boss. XD

i cant wait for the eventual 10 part boss ranking of Black Myth Wu Kong ;p with all 90+ bosses

Never ever seen someone put Benkei as high as #2 before, above Tate Eboshi, Raiko, and all Otakemaru forms. Yoshitsune #1 is fairly popular but never seen his ride-or-die right below him.

Minamoto no Yorimitsu/Lady Raiko is absolutely the best Nioh boss, best Team Ninja ARPG boss and my favourite jumpy sword woman in Souls of all time, to me she's better than all of them, Lady Maria, Malenia, Friede, Reese, Ursula, Honglan...

Perfect Ki Pulsing Mid Stance is a good way to deal with high ki damage attacks, you get a free block, that was advised to me to help with Tate Eboshi. Nice to have late game foes that test your fundamentals! Also, with Purity weapons, you can Ki Pulse while blocking. Also, good choice of Switchglaive, my favourite! A great tool for learning Ki Flux.

Great video. For me personally, I have the same top ten, except for the number 1 and 2 being switched around. I just resonated more with Benki, maybe cause I found the spiltstaff an awesome weapon

Yeah! Yoshitsune. My favourite boss, in gaming. If you want an even quicker way through the dark realm, Arrrowproof is a great tool, but even better, he uses Purity, which means you can't buff yourself, so you've gotta watch out for that! But, Switchglaive, has a Low Stance skill that reflects physical projectiles. It drains really quickly while your stats are low like in difficulty 1, but with I think it might scale from Block, but anyways, just having more ki as more levels will give you, you can definitely use it more as a tool in his fight about Dream of the Demon from recollection, and Dream of the Nioh sees you able to get the Yata Mirror which has the passive that lets you reflect physical projectiles on Timely Guard. I like how the options open up as the difficulties progress! Learning the system, then incorporating your own moveset, then proving you know the enemy's timing..."Know the terrain, yourself, and your enemy and you shall win every battle."

BENKEI!!! 💙🤍

Can't remember if you mentioned this, but do you plan on covering the DLC bosses of Nioh 1 (after you've had your well-deserved break, of course)

So, your 2 favorite bosses of this game were also on onimusha, what a weird coincidence. Dont worry, theres probably another Minamoto no Yoshitsune waiting to be your nº1 spot

Oh yeah. Here we go.

Did you finish Way of the Nioh all the way through the depths? Some of those rankings would definitely change when you encounter the bosses down there. The Ashiya Doman and Saito Toshimitsu boss fight is right up there with Everlasting Duty in Nioh 1

Which Yoshitsune do you like more? This one or the other one you recently covered?
