Any more hot takes and youd be competing with the sun for our new energy source.

dude you have crazy work ethic wtf

10:10 Crazy death, bro.

I love how in Sweet Mystery Galaxy the bulb fruit rebeals the chocolate inside the packaging. A very cute, inconsequential thing that adds to much to the atmosphere.

Btw the final Bowser music is peak, and I don’t hate the idea of the bossfight, but the difficulty is a joke, non-existent. So you barely get to hear the amazing music :(

The boss blitz? I think rather than two dino Piranhas, we see Jr. again. He just disappeared after world 5.
It could either be his airship from MG1 world 3, or something entirely new.

Galaxy 1 and 2 are my favourite games ever and likely always will be.

Way I see it, 1 is “my favourite” and most nostalgic, atmospheric and special to me, whereas I think 2 is the more replayable game given the faster pace, more galaxies and streamlined approach etc…

Honestly love how both games are different at their core in structure and actually stand out, they are both 11/10s and will forever hold such a special place in my heart ❤️

Love to see it. I've mentioned before that is the only Mario game I've ever played in it's entirety while growing up. So this is a nice trip down memory lane.

this is probably due to the fact the Super Mario Mash-Up pack is more than a decade old and is still being updated to this day. So at launch they did all the things you'd expect but later they had to look deeper

15:30 it’s like they knew there was missed potential with Puzzle Plank because 3D Land has a few stages that are basically just new puzzle plank levels

Great list. Been really enjoying the Mario content. Maybe a boss ranking of the galaxy games is needed? I know they have been mentioned in the entries, but I'm curious to know your thoughts if you take the level out of the assessment BillyS

I’ve got to say that Bowser Jr’s Boom Bunker is probably my favorite level to play. The boss fight is excellent, using Megahammer’s bullet bills in the first section was a nice touch and I really liked the cannons. The Daredevil comet is also just one of my favorite Mario levels period(Probably Top 5) as I love the tough but fair gauntlet levels, which is also a big reason why my favorite Galaxy one level is Lava Spire Daredevil run. My favorite one period though is easily Shiverburn. The visuals are some of the best in the game, does the fire and ice better than Freezeflame in my opinion, and has probably the best collection of Green Stars in the game. I really wish both Boom Bunker(And the Bowser levels in general) and Shiverburn had more stars to them so we could have more to explore.

The Galaxy game I grew up with, keep 'em coming!!

I do wish they used Puzzle Plank Galaxy's theme at least ONE more time. That song pretty much CARRIED Puzzle Plank for me.

For some reason I grew up playing through this whole game as a kid and not ever touching the first galaxy game because I never had it. This brings so many memories lol

Battle Belt also gets the honor of, by far, the LAZIEST Green Stars in the entire game (barring Cosmic Cove's Green 1). It has THREE to work with, and they're all placed on top of the disappearing cages, with one being on the FINAL PLANET. Could've easily mixed it up, by adding more seaweed in the Boo section to hide one in, putting one over the lava pits on the second planet, or hid one in/above a breakable crate. It'd be SOMETHING.

Great rankings, though!

10:40 I will always defend this star because I still remember the jubilation of finding it as a kid. Key gaming memory.

The fact that the daredevil variant in grand master forces you to use the cloud power up for the latest stages so your jump timing is a bit off. Such a well designed challenge.

One thing you didn't even mention is Melty green stars are crazy good, which added to an already great galaxy to best in the series(as all 3d Mario)!

Flip out is pretty deserving as second last galaxy. It re uses a gimmick from way earlier in the game and shows just how great a mediocre gimmick can become when set on a different axis. Also battle belt not being in last is pretty surprising. Light flashing hurting your eyes is a legit reason for flash black taking last but at least it had somewhat of an identity.
