Nioh is totally a Soulslike. Everyone that says otherwise are hit in the head.

Nioh is peak. Best SOULSLIKES of their generation. Only recently Lies of P, Khazan and Mortal Shell 2 (literally came out yesterday, lol) are on par with Nioh 2 and (now) Nioh 3.

Going into Nioh 1 last year, I expected it to be hard but fun.

It’s now turned into a full on addiction that I have to ween myself off of from time to time to avoid becoming a total hermit.

Just started my NG+ run of Nioh 3 and oh Lordy Lordy, it’s already got its claws in me…

A Brit talks about Irish heritage and shows a man in a kilt. Sir, you may have just declared war on two different countries simultaneously.

46:35 You explained right here why it's necessary to have the Dark Realm phase. I think here it's when you are thinking in a Nioh 1 style of way.

In Nioh 2 you can get such insane builds and wild combos going, the powerup from Dark Realm is not that dramatic as you make it out to be, as much as it also is a necessity for the boss to not get stunlocked and annihilated (they still do anyway)

In Nioh 1 you were slower, you had more sluggish combos, you had less optiond, and bosses just kinda one shot you half the time.

In Nioh 2 you got all the tools, you can auto purchase elixirs, you recover Ki whilst using the Yokai abilities, can have ridiculous Ki management, and inflict all the status you could need, even in early game.

Also it's worth noting that the point of the snake boss is that you kill the snake arms so you don't get ganked in dark realm but i get it's hard to hit them with fists.

I don't know for sure, but my best guess as to what the deal is with the Nioh 2 blue "online" missions is that they are meant to be hard enough to encourage you to find a partner to challenge them with.

Nioh 1 is what got me into souls games. It was free on PS plus and I got addicted to it. Luckily nioh 2 was coming out 2 months later. Now I play all types of souls like games

In nioh 2 kashin is the hatred of otakemaru given form, we defeated kashin sure but we didn't really took down Otakemaru itself.
That's what we do in the dlc's we go around chasing clues about the ones who held that special sword to finally took Otakemaru (our uncle), since we heard a samurai was able to defeat him in the past
But since his hatred was alive then something must be bad
Only to realize we were the ones who did that(? that last part i'm not so sure myself and i played the main story like 5 times already XD it's hella confusing so i won't judge )

I spent most of the first game with William wearing that silly-ass kodama bowl hat.  It looked far sillier than your English knight helm.

45:03 Purity fists are the single greatest weapon in this game. I’ll stand on that

The thing with the Nioh games is that they are so heavy on the Diablo-style loot grind, you only really get a good sense of how balanced they are after going through all the way to the true endgame in the abyss. You need to rethink your builds and playstyles as you go, so for instance usually poison is a good bet on ng, but by the end that small dot isn't making a dent on the enemies massive hp pools and as poison doesn't synergize well with other debuffs its a  bad choice. Nioh 2 shines is that that ramp-up is handled way better than in Nioh 1 and you really need to think about making a build that synergizes optimally. Long-term players will get way more out of 2 for that reason. Nioh 3, the jury is out on, as we haven't reached a stage where we can judge yet.

Talks shit about dlc boss being too hard gets hit by same blockable attack every 5 seconds 😂

Winback was orginally on n64 if I’m not mistaken

How I wish TN would do a patch to add Deflect mechanic to Nioh 1 & 2.

blue mission are just mission that is added post launch, like a monster hunter title update

I own both Nioh 1&2. I didn’t finish Nioh1 (until recently), but I jumped into 2 and I loved that game. After I beat 2, I went back to finish 1, and I see what you mean. A lot of reused levels and bosses. A lot of the Yokai that I thought were new to 2 were present in 1. So as someone who loves Nioh2 more than Nioh1 just cuz of quality of life changes, I can understand where people are coming from who say 2 feels like DLC

Still playing nioh 2 having over 800+ hours

I may have seen all these but gotta support my favorite YouTuber

ok for one its not the spawn of satan, they are yokai demons from japanese shinto-buddhist mythology, not middle eastern mythology. OMFG it is souls like, at least in terms of difficulty for newbies, and very punishing.

This is going to sound insane. But bear with me lol so like I’ve had a really bad year and I’m just surviving. I’m over here tripping on shrooms and holy shit. This entire video has made me laugh and I’m having a blast with watching your videos man.
Yeah I get I’m tripping right now but bro. Thank you.

Much love.
