This video took way too long to script and edit, ngl. Soundtracks are not my forte, but I wanted to make sure the results of the poll got out there. Enjoy!

I would LOVE to see you listen to and rank the Nightlord themes

DeS remake being ahead of the original hurts my soul

How did you not mention the absolute angelic craziness that is the DS 3 menu music?I really goes so hard preparing you for the epic, but somber journey you are on. To me Elden Ring never reaches the heights of DS 3 soundtrack.

You have to do this but for the Zelda series. That series has music injected in its veins, a core pillar of why its so popular.

Yuka Kitamura is truly one of the GOATS, her Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 soundtracks are two of the best of all time. Without any doubt one of my favorite composers along with Akira Yamaoka, Masami Ueda, Keita Inoue and Hyunmin Cho.

As a musician soundtracks like these blow my mind. They arent just composing a song to lay over a fight, they have many optional layers that have to adapt to the fight itself. Whether that be a smooth transition to a phase change or a specific attack mid phase that triggers a climatic rise up. All dependent on how you the player are progressing through the fight. Genuinely insane talent.

OG Demon's Souls being at the bottom is insane to me

Yeah I had a feeling about #1. My favorite track vote is among the many for Ludwig the Holy Blade.
Future Ranking Idea: Each game ranked by Voice Acting!!

You really should do a community armored core 6 boss ranking

It would be neat to see a FromSoft composers ranking from you, comparing one composer’s entire discography against another. Obviously some of them don’t have enough tracks on their belt to compete, so they may have to be excluded. But mainstays like Tsukasa Saitoh, Kota Hoshino, Yuka Kitamura, Shoi Miyazawa, Tai Tomisawa, (anyone who has ever been part of FreQuency tbh) etc. have large enough discographies, massive influences within the studio’s work, and distinctive soundscapes that may make for an interesting discussion.

Ain't no damn way DS2's Sir Alonnes theme got 0 mention. It was Yukas first foray into the Souls franchise, and it was a fucking masterpiece.

I think Alonnes theme single handedly beats the entirety of DS1's ost. Easily one of my most favorite tracks in the series.

I was just looking for excellent music to add to my D&D campaign and cannot believe I did not think to use FromSoft's catalog. Excellent video and perfectly timed! Thank you!!

This may be my favourite of all the videos you've done. I love musical analysis and you do it so thoughtfully when it comes to the souls games, that I will go back and revisit tracks to hear what you have pointed out. There's a whole side content for you to explore, if you ever wanted to do analysis of other games. I'd be down for that.

I think people need to understand that EVERY souls game has a BANGER soundtrack. There is bear minimum Five s tier tracks in every souls game, not to mention the 20 in ds3. Every soundtrack is well composed.
(There are of course a few mis-used, or missed placed tracks, especially in the early games)

was kinda hoping to see some comments since there was the option to share our opinions on each game’s ost but i understand it might’ve taken too long, still wasn’t disappointed by the final ranking

Newer fan so not sure if either have been done before but a video ranking starter weapons or a video ranking boss weapons would be cool, love the videos

Hey Billy. Would you be interested in making a tier list of bosses from Dark Souls 3 combined with Elden Ring based on their quality? I’m thinking of including all the bosses that have trophies—so that would include the likes of the misbegotten warrior, plus the SotE expansion and maybe even Nightreign. I thought combining the two games into one ranking would be cool given their similar fast-paced gameplay styles, and I’m also curious to see if you think the DS3 bosses hold their own against the ones in Elden Ring.

Good video as always! Much as I like Dark Souls 2, even I have to admit I can't really remember any songs other than Things Betwixt and Majula.

Genuinely shocked to hear that the Four Kings from DS1 and Pontiff Sulyvahn in DS 3 didn't get a callout. Four Kings is in my top 3-5 of DS1, and the Pontiff is my favorite track from DS3.
