As a German I loved collecting Fillys as a kid I even bought Filly comics for special Fillys

I was obsessed with Filly Horses. They were even more popular than MLP in Germany at the time. I loved their Swarovski crystals & how each generation had a different theme. They also came with little cards & booklets explaining their family tree, where they come from & role in the kingdom/universe. It was a incredibly charming toy line actually.

Negative making a conscious effort to ensure that YouTube does not label this for children delights me.

as a european, fillys were huge in kindergarten, and there were made up rumors during recess about an animated show (before the show actually existed) so its fun to see it become real

the thing is really big in Europa and Germany

edit: the franchise not the series

forget the "series" I will always treasure the flocked filly toys I had as a kid, so cute and fluffy! altho my first one, in the same colors as the mascot from one of the first series, was one of those where even the eyes were flocked too so I thought it was dusty and spent the entire afternoon getting rid of the flocking by washing it all day so that "she could finally see well without dust in her eyes"

I will FOREVER contest the notion that Filly (itself, not the show) is just a knockoff! They were absolutely different from MLP in every way that mattered: Every year a different theme (mostly, and I know nearly all by heart!), small collectable figurines, and tons of big playsets, please look into those!
... But man is the show an absolute waste of potential. It could've revived them if they took advantage of the many Filly worlds they had, like have there be a big bad who brings chaos to the worlds and have other fillies from other worlds save the day and teach lessons. You could've revived the old ones like Unicorns, Witchies, et cetera and have made new toys for the bad guys, plus also driven renewed traffic to the magazines!... But no. Instead we got... This.

I love all the Germans coming into the comments to talk about their childhood with these! They were such a big part of my primary school experience as well! I collected the toys of about the first 3 or 4 generations? If anyone knows of similar mystery baggies to the first two gens of Filly, I'd be so happy! I'd love small cute figurienes with that soft texture :')

The absolute HOLD these things had on little girls back in the day was unparalleled. We were collecting and trading these as if they were pokemon cards.

The show had no impact here in Europe, it’s the toys that were incredibly successful. I truthfully didn’t even know there was a show xD

The Filly forest line had Finnish girls on a chokehold in 2006. They were cheap and sold in mystery bags so trading was common

Filly toys was sooo a part of my childhood (in Poland) 😭❣️ the colecting hits hard of this ponies ❤❤ ahh nostalgia

I absolutely LOVED Filly as a kid!
Honestly, I heard about Filly's first and thought MY LITTLE PONY was the knock off lamo
I still love both for their own reasons

Fillys used to be really beloved in Germany. I collected lots of them!

Filly had a better toy line concept than mlp and I will die on that hill, they successfully capitalised on the collectable mystery bag trend and kept things in the small present/pocket money range with the castles and landscapes being the only thing in the major birthday/christmas present price range, while MLP was consistently out of pocket money range, making it harder for kids to get into on their own and pressure their parents into buying them the larger sets.

As a German, Fillys were my CHILDHOOD. I always begged my Dad every time we wear near a toy store to go inside and get one little figure, i those surprise mini bags.

Bro just unlocked a core memory 😭 As a Dane I LOVED these as a child! My mom once got me a bunch of Fillies and a playhouse, but the catch was I could only have them if I managed not to argue with my brother for an entire week. Toughest challenge of my childhood!

As a fellow Europan I loved Filly, especially the smell from the Figures. If you ever decided to make a full Deep Dive into the Franchise, the old comics, radio plays and books have a lot lore explanation, I think, they also could be trash and it's just my nostalgia talking. Anyway, AMAZING VIDEO AS ALWAYS ❤❤❤❤

I'm german and they were a HUGE thing when I was young. I knew all of them and still know some of their names. Some stuff I wanted to add:

-Yes, the magic mirrors are only in the show. The Unicons had one Spinning mirror but that's it.
-Also there are Kingdoms in the actual toysets. You would even get a whole map of each World with every Single Filly you buy (you had to buy them in gacha System btw)
-One Filly even had a bat pet but it wasn't Evil.
-Mermaid Fillys were a real toy. Also Ice skating Fillys
-There is only 1 Angel Filly. I think it was a Christmas special comic of the filly fairy world. They always had comics with Fillys with gadgets or rare Fillys you could only get there.
-Willows Aunt was actually normal sized idk why they did that I don't even remember if they were related

Danish person here: You did a pretty good job pronouncing the founders' names (0:33 ).... But the accent? Man, those were foul🤣, but I'm glad you tried😂😂😂
