UNTIL HE GOES INTO HEAT AT A CRIME SCENE

It’s kinda weird that wolf pseudoscience created two completely distinct subcultures, one with questionable ideas about consent, sex and gender roles, and the other being omegaverse.

I now have an urge to write a fic that is technically ABO but is told from the PoV of the beta coworkers being gossipy about the alpha/omega members. No porn, just workplace dramedy.

Reading A/B/O and shaking my head to let people know I don't believe in wolf pack pseudoscience

I was told omegaverse was "created to make Jensen Ackles experience misogyny" and I stand by that

As a biology student, I have a hypothesis. The simplest possible scenario would involve a ratio of alphas/betas/omegas being 1/2/1, or 25% alphas, 50% betas, and 25% omegas. Let's assume there are two alleles, A and a, of the same gene, and that the status as alpha/beta/omega is determined by this single gene. Thus, a human could be homozygous dominant (AA), heterozygous (Aa), or homozygous recessive (aa). AA would be alpha, Aa would be beta, and aa would be omega. If an alpha and an omega have children, 100% of their offspring will be betas, since they can only receive an A from their alpha parent and an a from their omega parent. If two betas have children, their offspring will have the 1/2/1 ratio mentioned above (you can draw a Punnett square to help your understanding). Since alphas and omegas are probably more fertile, that will lead to more betas in the population, but more betas in the population (along with societal discrimination against omegas reducing their birth rates) will in turn lead to an increase in the 1/2/1 ratio, which makes me think that ratio would remain generally stable over time.

I don't know why I took the time to think of all this, let alone write it down.

every time someone asks what omegaverse is, i feel like an old soldier, trembling in his chair as his grandchildren ask what war was like

i am actually crying at how, at this point in latestage capitalism, that a video that has said the words "wolf penis" at least 8 times in the first like, 10 minutes is able to be sponsored by an earbud company, but seemingly not monetized by youtube? hilarious.

Not wanting to ship incest and then going to shipping the actors seems very on brand for the supernatural fandom tbh

I had a kid turn in MPREG for an English assignment once.

In my middle school ESL class I had my students make a family tree of a cartoon family for vocabulary practice.

A seventh grade girl labeled Katsuki Bakugo "husband" and Izuku Midoriya "wife" with a sweet family photo of a pregnant Midoriya with two blond and green haired children labeled "son" and "daughter."

I gave her full points and moved on because I knew exactly what that was, she clearly understood the vocabulary lesson, and I wanted to contain all my mpreg exposure for the day in fourth period only.

Heaven help us.

Imagine being considered expert enough to be referenced in several academic papers but to ever claim those flowers, having to out your AO3 alias connection to your name

Doctor: “What’s your blood type? A? B? O?”
Certain People: seizing violently

“secretary of State Thomas Jefferson might not be the alpha he says he is” took me aback SO HARD I replayed that thrice just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy

It kills me that the alpha/beta wolf thing was written about by one guy. Who later retracted that and said it wasn't accurate, which just happens with science. And then it just went on and lived a life of its own and infected society

"if something incomprehensible is happening in fandom it is almost always star treks fault" as a lifelong trekkie with a mother who was making spirk zines in the 80s with her friends. i can confirm this to be absolutely correct

Fun fact: I thought to myself "how popular is omegaverse on AO3 for Chinese users" and I looked it up and stumbled onto Chinese Elon Musk omegaverse fic. Chinese AO3 users are insane I love 'em

Amateur fandom historian? Father Strange, this is like your job. You are quite literally a PROFESSIONAL fandom historian.

As a devoted Trekkie, I realized IMMEDIATELY that 'heat' is basically just Pon Farr. Which, has some incredible implications for the Star Trek universe. Big day for Spirk freaks.

“John can’t seem to get pregnant. After every heat it is a big disappointment, but they keep trying. Sherlock starts to blame himself (and his past drug use) as the reason he can’t get John pregnant” I am so much more invested in the implications of this fic summary than anything Stephen moffat ever wrote
